How I would use in my classroom-- I LOVE using a bellringer/opener/starter. Whatever language you use in your class, they are the best! We all know that the first few minutes is always chaos in the classroom. You have to address student needs, take attendance, and the other billion things that come up the first second your students see you. This activity is a great way to gain those 10-15 minutes back so that you can address those needs. The students start off by filling out the mental health check-in. This tiny addition to my classroom has made SO MUCH DIFFERENCE for my relationships with students. Students simply color in if they are filling Red, Yellow, or Green in that moment. You will pre-teach what those different things mean and how you will respond to them when you see student responses. Then, you simply glance over student's shoulders to see how students are coming into the classroom. I have different ways to handle when students are yellow and red, but you can customize this to your own responses. This will allow to you prove to your students that their emotional needs are valid will be met when they enter your classroom. Then, students complete the activity on the board and in their workbook. These will be the same each week with a different prompt. Familiarly is the BEST classroom management strategy. Once students get use to completing these, they will know exactly what to do each day they complete these activities. Once a week, there is a weekly lesson aligned with objective for that week! This week is a social story that gives students strategies on how to be successful completing their homework. Kids and parents really appreciate this activity !

The lesson blends reading, discussion, and a hands-on experiment so students can see how plants make their own food in a way that feels real and meaningful. I put this resource together because photosynthesis is one of those topics that becomes much easier to understand when students can read about it and observe it in action. This set offers a mix of activities that help students explore the idea from different angles. What’s inside? A short reading passage that explains photosynthesis Seven comprehension questions with an answer key A step by step experiment using black gram seeds Follow-up discussion questions to guide class conversation Safety notes and cautions for the experiment Two anchor charts that break the process into small pieces A quick True/False activity with answers A diagram activity where students label the photosynthesis process A story-writing page where students write from the point of view of a plant Complete answer keys to all the questions are included in this resource Resource features: I designed this set with 3rd and 4th graders in my mind. The reading level and activities are approachable for that age group. The experiment inside the resource is simple enough for students to complete in small groups, but still gives them something meaningful to observe. I have written all the instructions clearly. Each activity in this resource builds on the previous one so students can connect ideas as they go. This resource also blends science with literacy, drawing, and creative thinking, which makes it easy to fit into a variety of lesson plans or science centers. Ways to use it: Reading activity: Have students read the passage and answer the questions independently or with partners. Vocabulary work: Create a small word wall or glossary for science terms. Hands-on learning: Set up the seed experiment as a class or rotate it through small groups. Need a fun, engaging activity for practicing number bonds to 5 with your kiddos? This math bingo game is perfect for getting your students focused on number bonds for numbers 1-5! Preparation: Print and laminate enough Bingo Boards for each student to have one Optional: print, cut and laminate the Playing Squares Print, cut and laminate the Calling Cards. Lamination is optional, but recommended, as it will ensure that the game remains in good condition and can be used for many years to come! To avoid excessive printing and laminating, the Playing Squares could be replaced with other manipulatives such as buttons or counters. Alternatively, students could mark squares off on their Bingo Boards with dry erase markers and then simply clean the boards again after playing (provided that you have laminated the boards) How to Play: Each student needs a Bingo Board and at least 7 Playing Squares (or other manipulatives or a dry erase marker) Shuffle the Calling Cards and place them in a pile. Draw a Calling Card and call out and/or display the contents of the card. Each student looks on their Bingo Board for a block that matches the Calling Card. If they find one, they cover that block with a Playing Square. Draw a new Calling Card and repeat the process. The game continues until somebody wins. To win, a student must shout out “BINGO!” when they have covered three blocks in a row (horizontally, vertically or diagonally). If the Calling Cards run out before anybody wins, simply shuffle them again and continue playing. Please note: Sometimes there may be more than one block on the Bingo Board that matches the Calling Card. The student may only cover one block on a turn. Once that turn is over, the Playing Square may not be moved to cover a different block. This resource includes 5 different bingo board, in colour as well as black and white.
