What You Get: This is aPercentages of Amounts Pennant Activity.It is a 19-page printable that includes pennants printed 2 per page. There are 32 flags with percent problems. There are 2 blank flags at the end for students to create their own questions. They can swap and solve each others. This is also an opportunity to give students more scaffolded questions or challenging depending on ability. An answer key is included. How To Implement This Pennant Activity: You can print off all the flags. Depending on your class, you’ll want to decide how many flags you want each student to complete. If you have a small class size, you may have students complete 3 or more flags each. Give students time to find the percentages and write their answers. There is enough space on the flags for students to work out the problem. Students can cut out their pennants and you can display them in the classroom or in the hallway. CREDIT SCORE BOARD GAME: A fun financial literacy lesson and finance game! This engaging financial literacy activity will help teach your high school students all about credit scores- one of the most important numbers you will have as an adult! How to Use: • Show your class an online video containing the basic facts about credit scores. You can easily search for one by looking up "What is a FICO score?" • Present the two slides to your students to introduce credit scores, their range, and the five main activities that effect them. You can print a double-sided handout for your students or let them take notes themselves. • Have a board and six-sided die for each group of two to four players. • Each player also needs a small item to be their counter on the game board. • The players in each group will roll the die and play the board game like any other. They start with a credit score and each square they land on has a realistic scenario and resulting effect on their credit score. They can use scrap paper or a mini whiteboard to keep a running tally of their score throughout the game. • Once all players have gotten to the final square, the winner will be the person with the highest credit score. Many teachers have reported their students want to play this game again and again and get pretty competitive when playing. One thing that builds classroom community amongst students is allowing them to share about themselves. As teachers, we often do this at the start of the school year. All About Me worksheets are usually the focus and then we don’t spend much else time on intentionally allowing students to share who they are. If you want to give students a chance to continue to share about themselves throughout the year, this resource is a great start! This is a My Heritage Booklet Project that students can complete at any time. The primary learning target for students is to use their primary sources to explain and elaborate on their heritage. Directions: - Create a small booklet that includes the following: - Each page must have 2 colored pictures - Text must be typed or NEATLY handwritten in blue or black ink pen.
