Here is a set of PE Basketball Stations. The PE basketball Stations are 20 fun filled, “fast break” basketball themed station signs/cards that you can use in your school gymnasium , outdoor blacktop or could be modified to be performed in a smaller space such as a classroom or empty cafeteria. Each basketball station card provides a basketball-related skill (i.e. dribbling, passing, shooting, etc.) and includes a brief instructional direction and a graphic that depicts the activity . The activities are standards-based and there are plenty of activities for you to choose from or for the students to take part in during multiple class periods or recess times if necessary. The stations work great as an activity for the weeks leading up to March Madness or the NBA Playoffs.

Charlotte's Web Activity Charcter Acrostic Poems

This fun activity goes along with the novel Charlotte's Web, by E. B. White. In this activity , students create acrostic poems for characters from the story. Acrostic poems are a fun way to check students' understanding of the reading. Make sure to first go over how to complete an acrostic poem with words or short phrases that describe the character. The characters students will be writing a poem for are Wilbur, Charlotte, Templeton, and Fern. Charlotte's Web is usually read by 2nd through 4th graders. If you've never done an acrostic poem with your students, make sure they understand how to complete one. It's important they understand that the words and phrases MUST make sense to the character they've read about. For example, the W in Wilbur could stand for 'Wants a friend.' The C in Charlotte could stand for 'Caring.' You could have a discussion whole group first about how they would describe each of the characters. Students could also work in small groups. When students complete activities where they focus on the actions and traits of the characters in the story, they will understand the story better. They will also understand why characters act the way they do in the story.

Snowdrops Picture to Make is a fun resource for students to complete as culmination of a science unit, to welcome spring, or simply to put into practice their fine motor skills! Additionally, it can be used for art class, or for the study of flowers, or simply to make a card to give away. Instructions for making a sweet picture of snowdrops are included along with what is needed: • Green card A5 size • Blue/darker green and white paper • A green felt tip pen • A glue stick • Scissors • White/green/yellow/blue paint • A piece of stiff card • A cotton wool ball This activity is suitable for Grade 1 (Y2) and upwards. A total of 11 steps are included in the instructions. This activity is best implemented in small groups where the teacher, assistant, or parent is readily available to step in and help students. Older students may be able to work independently. During completion: name the parts of the flower such as: petal, stem, seed-vessel, leaves. After completion: encourage students to name the parts of the flower while describing their own flower. Mount the picture on a piece of folded A4 card and pin it up. You could even make it into a card and give it to someone!

Kindergartners and first graders will get a ton of practice reading AN words with these fluency activities. All target words are part of the AN word family. Students will practice reading these CVC words in isolation as well as in context of a simple sentence or passage. What is Included: Word Fluency Strips - These three strips only contain AN words in isolation. Students will practice reading the words on the strips until words are mastered. Sentence Strips - The sentence strips contain AN words in the context of simple sentences. Sentence Fluency Worksheet - Students will read the simple sentences then pick one sentence to illustrate in the box at the bottom of the worksheet. Reading Comprehension Passage - Students will read the story containing AN words three times then answer two comprehension questions and draw a picture to illustrate the story. Sentence Pyramids - There are eight sentence pyramids where students will read each sentence, adding a new word on each line. How to Use: These activities word very well in a reading or phonics center for students to work on independently or with a partner. They make great small group activities. Students will practice reading comprehension skills with the reading passage page. The worksheets are print and go, no prep activity for teachers to prepare for students. They just need to be printed out and given to students to complete. The sentence strips and pyramid cards need to be printed and cut apart.
