Finding the Mean with Outlier is a great resource for students to be able to practice this skill. What is an outlier? What does the mean represent in a data set? Student's will be able to answer these two questions and will be able to find the outlier and mean when presented with different amounts of data. This resource is designed for students in 5th and 6th grade. However, it could be used with any student in need to review how to find the mean with outlier. Students will find the mean in 12 different task cards that will show data in pictographs, bar graphs, and more. This resource includes a task card recording sheet with ample space for students to show their work. By having students show their work you will be able to identify where they need additional help and practice. The answer key includes all the steps taken to get to each answer allowing you to easily see what students miss. Data sets included will have between 4 to 6 numbers. Includes: 12 task cards .
