This activity is a fun and engaging way for students to practice one-step equations while having fun and looking for a mystery picture. The activity features 20 one-step equations for students to solve, and as they correctly answer the questions, a mystery picture (Martin Luther King Jr. themed) will be revealed. The design of the activity makes it easy for students to self-check their answers, letting them receive immediate feedback and quickly identify and correct any mistakes they make. The activity is suitable for middle school students but has been specifically designed for sixth graders. It’s great that this activity is easy to implement in the classroom. All you need to do is share the link with the students and they are ready to go! The activity is designed to be engaging and interactive, so even the most reluctant students will be motivated to participate. By combining problem-solving with a mystery picture reveal, it encourages students to engage with the material and work towards a concrete goal, helping them to stay motivated and focused throughout the activity. The answers include positive and negative integers, so students will have the opportunity to practice working with both types of numbers. A printable version of the questions and answers is also included, making it easy to use in the classroom or at home. I used this activity as a sub plan with sixth graders, and they loved it. They where so engaged. Now I give them a pixel art activity as a price, if they are well behaved or on Fridays, or as homework if they need some extra practice. It is also a great activity to assign to fast finishers. Since this activity is online there is no need for Google or Microsoft logins. Fog Free Reading Comprehension Passage
ELA, Reading Comprehension, Reading, Language Development, ESL, Strategies, Library, Resources for Teachers, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Science, Grade 2, 3, 4, 5, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets, Teacher Tools, Centers, Activities, Writing Prompts, Assessments, Quizzes and Tests, Quizzes, Tests
Fog reading comprehension: This Product Includes Reading Passage Each lesson begins with a high-interest reading passage written in clear, student-friendly paragraphs. The passage is usually three to four paragraphs long and explores different parts of the topic, such as history, science, technology, people, places, or real-world connections. Most passages are between 250 and 350 words, making them long enough to build reading stamina but short enough to fit easily into a regular lesson. Before reading, ask students to look at the heading and make a quick prediction: What do they think the passage will be about? What do they already know about this topic? What words or ideas might appear in the text? First Read Options You can choose the reading format that best fits your class: Teacher read-aloud – Great for support, modeling fluency, and helping students access the text. Partner reading – Students read paragraph by paragraph with a partner. Independent reading – Best for students who are ready to work with more independence. While reading, students can underline important details and any vocabulary words they think might appear later in the questions. Mixed Questions The first question page includes four multiple-choice questions and three written response questions. The multiple-choice questions each include four answer choices. These are useful for checking basic understanding, key details, vocabulary, and reading skills. Students can complete the multiple-choice questions independently first, then quickly review the answers as a class. The written response questions require students to answer in one or two complete sentences. Encourage students to include evidence from the passage when possible. A helpful sentence frame is: “I think ___ because the text says ___.” If students get stuck, remind them to return to the passage and look for the part that helps answer the question. Creative Writing The creative writing task asks students to write a short paragraph of five to eight sentences based on a question connected to the topic. Before writing, have students jot down three key ideas they want to include. You can also ask a few students to share ideas with the class to support anyone who needs help getting started. Writing Expectations Students should aim to include: 5–8 complete sentences At least 2 facts or details from the passage At least 2 vocabulary words from the previous page After writing, students can read their paragraphs aloud while classmates listen for facts, details, and vocabulary words. Answer Key An answer key is included for the multiple-choice questions. Written response questions include sample answers to show what a strong response might look like. Vocabulary answers are also provided. If the lesson includes a summary question, a sample summary is included as well.

Blossom Tree Craft
Creative Arts, Art, Science, Life Sciences, Biology, Not Grade Specific, Activities, Crafts
The Tree Blossom Craft is a fun resource for young children to complete; as part of science about trees/plants, to welcome spring, or simply to put into practice their fine motor skills! Ways to use the Tree Blossom Craft Activity: It can be used for art class, or for the study of trees/spring. It is best if the children's attention has been drawn to trees in blossom first as then the activity will be more meaningful to them. Work could then extend to the work of insects/ bees to pollinate the flowers - and then intrigue fostered to find out what happens next. A tree could then be studied and visited again to see the fruits appearing. The study of nature is the beginning of the study of science. A good teacher will take full advantage of every opportunity to guide her/his pupils to learn from it. Full Instructions for making a Tree in Blossom are provided The activity only needs simple resources, and it would be good if the children could help to gather twigs - or the teacher could bring them into class. You will need: Brown card Green Card Scissors Twigs Tissue paper: Pink, white and green PVA glue This activity is suitable for Grade K (Y1) and upwards. It is suitable for class/group or home education. Younger children could complete it with help. A total of 7 easy steps are included in the instructions. This activity is best implemented in small groups where the teacher, assistant, or parent is readily available to step in and help students. Older students may be able to work independently. During completion: name the parts of the tree such as trunk, branches, twigs, blossom/flowers. After completion: encourage students to name the parts of the tree while describing their own to each other. Children learn from repetition in different forms.
