Are you looking for fun activities for practicing number recognition? These pixel art worksheets are perfect for getting your students to practice number identification for the number 5! Different options for how to use this resource: Cut and paste You can choose to print the colour square pages on white paper. -This is the simplest option, but it will take a lot of colour ink. Or you can choose to print the black line squares pages on colour paper. -This will use a lot less ink, but it will take a little more work to prepare. -You may struggle to find colour paper in all the colours I have used. If you have a problem finding the right colours, you can generally substitute a different colour if you need to. Simply look at the answer key to see what the pictures are and choose an appropriate substitute colour. Colour by number You will only need to print the worksheets and allow the students to colour the squares themselves. Preparation: Worksheets 3 printing options: 1. Full colour - best if you will be able to use all the same colours that I have used. 2. Partial colour – I have left the colours blank. You will need to tell your students what colours to use for each number before they can start the activity . This is best if you need to make some substitutions because you are printing on colour paper and cannot find all the correct colours. 3. Black and white - like with the partial colour version, you will need to tell your students what colours to use for each number before they can start the activity . Squares Pages If you are using this resource as a cut and paste activity . 2 printing options: 1 .Colour squares pages (Print on white paper. Each page will have information telling you what picture it is meant for. Simply give each student a block with the different colour squares along with their worksheet) 2. Black line squares pages (print on colour paper. Each page will have information telling you which picture it is meant for, as well as the recommended colour paper to use, and how many students will be able to get their squares from one page. Cut on the dotted lines and give each student one section of each colour page for the picture they are working on.) Key Concepts: What wind energy is and what causes wind, Basic components of a wind turbine, Ideal wind conditions and locations, Benefits and challenges of wind power, Current wind farms and the wind industry, Careers associated with wind technology, and more. It's an excellent way to get your students investigating the concept of wind power and how it has advanced over the years. It is perfect for middle or high school students can be done individually or in partners. Here are two example questions that your students will find on the scavenger hunt webquest. Wind Energy Scavenger Hunt WebQuest Task: Research the following questions online. What is wind energy and what causes wind to occur? What are the basic components of a wind turbine and how do they work together to generate electricity? All answers are included and your package also includes my Wind Energy STEM Challenge which will allow your students to explore the world of wind energy in an engineering challenge. Here is a portion of the challenge. Objective: Design and construct a wind-powered car that can travel 2 meters (6.5 feet) using only the wind generated by a fan. Your car must stay within a designated track of 1 meter (3.3 feet) in width. Materials: · Cardboard sheets. · Paper (for the sail) · Dowels or skewers for axles and structure. · Tape or glue. · Scissors. · Ruler or measuring tape. · Fan to provide wind power and markers or paint for decoration. Design Constraints: · The car must be primarily made of cardboard and paper. · The only allowed materials for the car's movement are dowels for axles and a paper sail. · The car cannot have any electronic or pre-made propulsion systems (e.g., no motors, batteries). · The vehicle must have at least two wheels. · The car must be freestanding and move straight on its own once the fan starts. · Decorations are permitted but cannot contribute to the car’s propulsion.

Get students engaged with learning about the letter M with this mini foldable alphabet book. The large images makes these books easy for students to color, and the foldable nature of these books product a no prep activity that can easily be assigned to students. What is Included: This resource includes a single foldable book for the letter M. Each book includes a cover page and 3 picture pages all with pictures that begin with M. Each page also includes a sentence that reads like "A is for Apple," making it easy to read for beginning readers. How to Make: Students will color each page of the foldable book. They will then fold the page to make an alphabet book. The student will then read the book to themselves or to another person. When to Use: Independent Practice - Students can be given these mini books to color and work on independently. Homework - This book can be sent home with students so that they can work on beginning reading and letter sounds with their parents. Literacy or Writing Center - Place the page in the center and let students create their own book. Library - The teacher may choose to create this book and add it to the classroom library for students to read during center time. These alphabet books are a no prep option for teachers to give to students to complete. Each book just needs to be printed out and given to students to complete.
