Test your pupil's knowledge of common trees with this simple, fun Tree ID Activity. Introduction and objectives This simple puzzle, helps children to learn to recognize a tree by its leaf and fruit. The trees included on the more advanced puzzle are: Oak Ash Beech Horse Chestnut Sweet Chestnut Hazel Hawthorn And on the easier one: Oak Horse Chestnut Beech Hawthorn How to use this activity The tree activity can be used as part of a science lesson on comparing trees, or as an assessment after studying different trees and their fruits, possibly in autumn time. It can be successfully used alongside our Leaf Sorting Activity. It can follow a walk where the fruits of different trees are collected along with their leaves, in autumn, and the children can use books or other sources to help them to identify the leaves and fruit - as such it can be a learning activity rather than a puzzle. Children can either draw lines from each fruit to ots tree and then its leaf, or the sections can but cut out and stuck onto another sheet (provided). There are two levels of difficulty, one activity with seven trees and one with four. Choose the one most suitable for each child. Who can use the Tree ID Puzzle? It can be used in the home, by teachers and in the home-school. It can be blown up large and completed together by a class/group. It can be made into a centre activity by cutting out the individual words and pictures and allowing children to put the ones that go together next to each other. I suggest laminating the pieces to make them more durable. Answers provided.

Its main objective is to teach multiplication concepts in a dynamic manner to students from Grade 1 up until Grade 4, through enjoyable and immersive activities that invoke learners' active involvement. Contents of the Package The Multiplication Bump Games package consists of: 12 distinctive Multiplication Bump Games that involve multiplication facts from tables 2-12. The option to choose between two color formats for each game or a black and white version, resulting in a total of 33 pages worth of material. Utility and Usage This well-rounded resource can be used in different classroom settings - small study groups, whole class sessions or individual interaction with struggling students. The games' simplicity makes them an appealing homework assignment as well. Setting Up the Activity To start off - select & print out the chosen game page Distribute two dice per student (or pair) \ Please note: you'll also need around fifteen counters for each pair of students or approximately eleven pieces for solo play. \ How to Play? In a typical game session, students roll their dice, add up the numbers and then multiply the sum by the number specified on their specific game page (to be found at top right corner within a snowflake symbol). The aim here isn't solely accuracy but also entails strategic planning especially when playing against opponents. In Conclusion... Need a fun, engaging activity for practicing skip counting by 2 with your kiddos? This math bingo game is perfect for getting your students focused on skip counting in 2s! Preparation: Print and laminate enough Bingo Boards for each student to have one Optional: print, cut and laminate the Playing Squares Print, cut and laminate the Calling Cards. Lamination is optional, but recommended, as it will ensure that the game remains in good condition and can be used for many years to come! To avoid excessive printing and laminating, the Playing Squares could be replaced with other manipulatives such as buttons or counters. Alternatively, students could mark squares off on their Bingo Boards with dry erase markers and then simply clean the boards again after playing (provided that you have laminated the boards) How to Play: Each student needs a Bingo Board and at least 7 Playing Squares (or other manipulatives or a dry erase marker) Shuffle the Calling Cards and place them in a pile. Draw a Calling Card and call out and/or display the contents of the card. Each student looks on their Bingo Board for a block that matches the Calling Card. If they find one, they cover that block with a Playing Square. Draw a new Calling Card and repeat the process. The game continues until somebody wins. To win, a student must shout out “BINGO!” when they have covered three blocks in a row (horizontally, vertically or diagonally). If the Calling Cards run out before anybody wins, simply shuffle them again and continue playing. Please note: Sometimes there may be more than one block on the Bingo Board that matches the Calling Card. The student may only cover one block on a turn. Once that turn is over, the Playing Square may not be moved to cover a different block. This resource includes 5 different bingo board, in colour as well as black and white. In this resource you will receive a very engaging and fun game played like Apples to Apples. There are 30 different emoji cards and 90 different person, place, thing, event cards. There is no reading required. Anyone over 5 can easily play this game. Directions: One person is the "judge" first. I usually choose the oldest in the group. The judge turns over one of the emoji cards. The other players choose one of their person, place, thing, event cards that best fits with that particular emoji. The judge then decides which one is best and the person who put down that card in the pile wins the emoji and also gets a point. The game continues as the next person clockwise is now the "judge". Each player needs to have 5 person, place, thing, event cards at all times. If they played a card, then on the next round they get another person, place, thing, event card. The discarded/used cards go back in the person, place, thing, event card pile to be replayed in future rounds. There are directions in this product. Uses: This game is great to play for indoor recess, centers , community building, etc. Because this is fully editable, you can choose which emojis you want and which person, place, thing, event cards you want. You can add or delete any of the pictures. You know your students best. I would recommend copying one set for each group of students playing. I also recommend using card stock and laminate for durability. Some of the emojis represented are party, cook, excited, mad, disgusted, poopy, yummy, hot, icy cold, steaming mad, laughing, crying, scared, etc. Some of the situations are disneyland, ziplining, broken window, darth vader, alien, smelly socks, super hero, minecraft person, candy, ice cream truck, the dentist, getting a shot, arcade, go carts, legos, smores, baseball, touchdown, and many more! Kelso's Choices Battle Brackets-A Fun SEL Game

Basketball brackets can be used for anything-not just basketball! In this SEL product, students will get excited about participating in a Kelso's Choices bracket battle! Kelso's Choices are 9 ways to solve small problems. There are 5 different Kelso's Choices bracket templates and one blank one. One of the templates is nonverbal versus verbal choices. This is fully editable as it is a Google Slide Presentation. There are 24 different scenarios for students to contemplate and choose Kelso's Choices for. This can be played as a whole class or small group. To play, you give each group a certain scenario. Then they begin with discussing one of the 2 competitors among the 8 competitor choices. Students keep track of the votes and the winner moves on to the semi-final round (4 choices), then the winners of that, move on to the final round. You could even have all small groups talk about the same scenario and the whole class does a final vote for the winner. It is up to you how you wish to play the game . Some of the scenarios are; someone will not let you play, someone cut in front of you, someone teased you, someone called you a name, someone made fun of what you are wearing, someone accused you of cheating, etc. You can also edit the scenarios to make it work for your groups or class. The key to keeping this engaging and a higher-order activity is to have students say which choice they would use and why. Students can share a time they used that particular choice, when a choice works or does not work, or the best conflicts for each choice. Students can also share a time when a particular choice did not work and that is why they did not vote for it or share a time when a particular choice worked and that is why they voted for it.
