Fast Fact Squares: A strategic game of math facts! Be the player with the most squares at the end of the game by adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing. This game is great for a variety of ages, whether they are just learning their addition facts (adding 1 through 6), are practicing all of their addition, subtraction, multiplication and/or division facts, for those who know all of their facts but are practicing their fluency...or for those who just like strategy games! This game is great to incorporate into your math lesson or throughout the day as a fast finisher activity. Students and teachers alike will also love it as an indoor recess game. Students may not even realize they are practicing their facts or how much strategy is really involved! Materials Needed: •Game Board •2 dice •Pen or pencil Object of the Game: •To be the player with the most colored squares How to Play: Decide which player goes first by rolling the dice. The person with the highest roll goes first First player rolls both dice. They may either add, subtract, multiply or divide the dice. Player finds their answer on the game board and draws ONE line by connecting any two dots that surround that number. Next player’s turn Play continues back and forth When a player connects two dots that closes off a square, they color in the square and earn a point. This player gets to roll again! Once game board has all squares colored in, player with the most points wins! You have three printing options. - Colour – for if you printed either of the colour game boards - BW 1 – for if you printed the BW 1 game board - BW 2 – for if you printed the BW 2 game board Cut out and laminate the fish at the top of the page to use as playing pieces. If you are using the BW printed fish, you would need to colour them before laminating. Alternatively, you can simply use counters or buttons. This file contains questions for multiple 4th grade math bingo games . The topics covered are place value, remainder in division, factors, multiples, converting fractions to decimal, adding and subtracting decimals, area and perimeter, finding change with money, and converting mixed numbers to improper fractions. There are blank bingo cards for you to use. Students can create their own boards or you can easily make them. Directions for Bingo Game 1. Have students make a 4 x 4 Bingo Board or pass out the included blank boards. Students will fill in the numbers 1 -16 in random order on their board. This way everyone will have all answers, but will have a different board. 2. As the teacher, you will choose the questions you ask, one question per number. Use a highlighter to mark the questions you ask. This way you will keep track and not repeat an answer. Each time you play Bingo, use a different color highlighter. 3. Ask about 8- 10 questions per game. You will usually have 5-6 students to bingo with this many questions, if you have at least 20 students. I give out a piece of candy for bingos. 4. You have enough questions for about 12-15 games.
