Fish and Aquatic Life word search, scramble and crossword

Fish and Aquatic Life word search, scramble and crossword
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Fish and Aquatic Life word search, scramble and crossword ⭐I made this fish and aquatic life puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our ocean and freshwater unit. The kids loved looking at pictures of fish but got bored fast when I tried to review vocabulary. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like salmon, trout, catfish, guppy, bass, minnow, pike, and goldfish. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to keep them thinking without complaining. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search is great for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they mix up letters on longer words. The crossword I save for partners. I added a couple simple fish and water ripple drawings but nothing too distracting. Works for 2nd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one fish and write a fact about it on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Modern US Presidents word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this modern US presidents puzzle set for my 4th graders during our social studies unit. The kids knew Biden and Trump but had no idea about presidents from the 1900s like FDR, Kennedy, or Reagan. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama, Trump, and Biden. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the 20th and 21st century names finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about who was president during World War II. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple White House and seal drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one fact about FDR on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Public Speaking Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this public speaking puzzle set for my 4th graders during our presentation unit. The kids were nervous to speak in front of the class and had no idea what words like eye contact, volume, or posture meant. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like eye contact, volume, posture, gesture, expression, fluency, pacing, pause, practice, audience, introduction, conclusion, note card, microphone, and confidence. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the public speaking terms finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether looking at your note cards too much is bad. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple microphone and person speaking drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one tip for feeling less nervous before a speech on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Fractions Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this fractions vocabulary puzzle set for my 3rd graders during our math unit. The kids could point to half of a pizza but had no idea what words like numerator, denominator, or equivalent meant. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like fraction, numerator, denominator, part, whole, equal parts, half, third, fourth, equivalent, compare, greater, less, proper fraction, improper fraction, mixed number, and number line. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the fraction terms finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether the numerator or denominator tells how many parts you have. The crossword I use for partners with pie chart clues. I added a couple simple pizza slice and fraction bar drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write the fraction for half and label the numerator and denominator on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Adverbs word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this adverbs puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our grammar unit. The kids could use adjectives to describe nouns but had no idea what to use to describe verbs. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using adverbs like quickly, slowly, loudly, quietly, carefully, carelessly, happily, sadly, easily, suddenly, always, never, often, sometimes, here, there, inside, outside, very, and really. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the -ly words and other adverbs finally click. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "fast" can be an adverb since it doesn't end in -ly. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple speedy turtle and slow snail drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write a sentence with an adverb on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
