Life Cycle of a Frog word search, scramble and crossword puzzles

Life Cycle of a Frog word search, scramble and crossword puzzles
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Life Science word search, scramble and crossword puzzle activity ⭐ I made this frog life cycle puzzle set one afternoon when my 2nd graders were supposed to be learning about metamorphosis but honestly they were too wiggly to sit through another diagram. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like "tadpole," "eggs," "froglet," and "lungs." The scramble gets them talking because they always mix up the letters for "amphibian." ⭐ The PDF is five pages. Three puzzles and two answer keys. I use the word search after recess when they need to be quiet. The crossword works better for partners. The scramble is good for morning work or early finishers. Simple drawings of eggs and a tadpole are on there but nothing too busy. ⭐ This works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have kids pick one word and draw the stage of the life cycle that goes with it on the back. Takes almost no prep and they actually stay focused.

Daily Routines Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Daily Routines Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this daily routines vocabulary puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our morning meeting and life skills unit. The kids could tell me what they did each day but had no idea what words like routine, morning, or evening meant when we talked about daily schedules. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like wake up, get dressed, eat breakfast, brush teeth, go to school, learn, eat lunch, play, go home, do homework, eat dinner, bathe, read a book, and go to sleep. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the daily routine vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether brushing teeth should be in the morning or night. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple clock, toothbrush, and bed drawings but nothing too busy. Works for K through 2nd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write their daily routine in order on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Indigenous Art Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Indigenous Art Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Indigenous Art Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this Indigenous art vocabulary puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our art and social studies unit. The kids could see carvings and woven baskets but had no idea what words like totem, petroglyph, or formline meant when we started learning about the art traditions of North America's First Peoples. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using terms from the glossary like petroglyph, pictograph, totem, formline, ovoid, crest, clan, potlatch, kiva, kachina, pictograph, petroglyph, formline, and material culture. I also included a note about artist as a concept, since in many Indigenous cultures there wasn't a separate word for art or artist—the focus was on the process and purpose rather than the product . The puzzle helps students see the diversity across regions, from Northwest Coast totem poles to Southwest pueblos, and breaks down the stereotype that all Indigenous art looks the same. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or during indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a pictograph is carved or painted, or whether a kiva is a room or a building. The crossword I use for partners or as a review after a lesson, and sometimes I have them reference the glossary page from our unit for support. I added a couple simple line drawings of a totem, a kiva, and a bentwood box but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers choose one term from the puzzle and draw a simple illustration of it on the back, or write a sentence about how it relates to a specific group or region. The kids actually ask for these now.

The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a scene and an act are the same thing. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple curtain, mask, and stage drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write a short scene using three words from the puzzle on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Asian Pacific Heritage Month word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this Asian Pacific Heritage Month puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our May unit. The kids had heard of the celebration but had no idea what words like heritage, culture, or tradition meant when we talked about Asian and Pacific contributions. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Asian Pacific, heritage, culture, tradition, diversity, celebrate, contributions, family, language, China, Japan, Korea, Philippines, India, Pacific Islands, Hawaii, Polynesia, and pride. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the AAPI Heritage vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether Pacific Islands and Asia are the same region. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple lotus flower, lantern, and ocean wave drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name one Asian or Pacific country and its capital on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Self-Regulation Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this self-regulation vocabulary puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our social-emotional learning unit. The kids could get upset but had no idea what words like regulate, control, or pause meant when we talked about managing our bodies and feelings. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like calm, breathe, pause, think, choose, regulate, control, body, feelings, safe, space, and focus. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the self-regulation vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether taking a pause is the same as giving up. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple calm cloud, breathing star, and brain drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one self-regulation strategy they use on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
