Fruits and Vegetables word search, scramble and crossword
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Fruits and Vegetables word search, scramble and crossword ⭐I made this fruits and vegetables puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our nutrition unit. The kids could name junk food all day but froze when I asked them to list vegetables. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like apple, banana, carrot, broccoli, lettuce, tomato, potato, grapes, and spinach. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help them learn the names. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they mix up letters in "broccoli" or argue whether tomato is a fruit or vegetable. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple apple and carrot drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 1st through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I ask early finishers to pick their favorite fruit and vegetable and write one sentence about each on the back. The kids actually enjoy these.

Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the germ vocabulary finally stick without causing panic. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether all germs are bad. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple germ cartoon and soap drawings but nothing too scary or busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name two ways to stop germs from spreading on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Native American Traditions word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this Native American traditions puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our social studies unit. The kids could name a few tribes but had no idea what words like powwow, tipi, or moccasin meant when we talked about the rich cultures of Indigenous peoples. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like tradition, culture, tribe, clan, chief, elder, shaman, powwow, ceremony, legend, totem pole, kachina, dreamcatcher, cradleboard, moccasin, wampum, petroglyph, parfleche, pemmican, lacrosse, travois, and wigwam. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or independent practice. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a tipi and a wigwam are the same thing (they're not — tipis are cone-shaped and used on the Plains, while wigwams are dome-shaped from the Northeast). The crossword I use for partners or as a review after we've looked at pictures of different tribal traditions. I added a couple simple feather, tipi, and drum drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one word from the puzzles and draw a picture or write a sentence about it on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the awareness vocabulary finally stick in an age-appropriate way. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether medicine from a doctor can ever be dangerous. The crossword I use for partners. Latino/Hispanic Culture Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Latino/Hispanic Culture Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this Latino and Hispanic culture vocabulary puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our heritage and identity unit. The kids had heard terms like Hispanic and Latino but had no idea what the differences were or what words like heritage, identity, or tradition really meant when we talked about culture. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using key terms for identity and culture like Hispanic, Latino, Latina, Latinx, Latine, Chicano, Mexican American, heritage, culture, tradition, identity, and family . I also threw in some everyday cultural words like fiesta, quinceañera, and mariachi because they come up in our classroom conversations . Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally stick without getting into the grown-up debates about which term is "right." The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or as a quick intro to the unit. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether Latino and Hispanic are the same thing or why some people prefer Latinx over Latina (we keep it simple and say it's about respect and personal choice). The crossword I use for partners or as a review after we've talked about what makes each term different . I added a couple simple heart, flag, and piñata drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one term and write a sentence about what it means to them on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like run, jump, hop, skip, swim, climb, throw, catch, kick, hit, draw, write, read, eat, drink, cook, clean, wash, sleep, wake, laugh, cry, talk, yell, and whisper. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the action words finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "sleep" is really an action. The crossword I use for partners with picture clues. I added a couple simple running, jumping, and sleeping stick figure drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 1st through 3rd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers act out three verbs for a friend on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
The Pilgrims and Thanksgiving word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this Pilgrims and Thanksgiving puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our fall social studies unit. The kids knew Thanksgiving meant turkey and family but had no idea who the Pilgrims were or why we celebrate. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Pilgrim, Mayflower, Plymouth, Wampanoag, harvest, feast, turkey, corn, squash, grateful, November, ship, ocean, colony, and Squanto. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the real story finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether the Pilgrims ate turkey at the first feast. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple ship and cornucopia drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 1st through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name one thing the Wampanoag taught the Pilgrims on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

National Landmarks word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
National Landmarks word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this national landmarks puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our geography and US symbols unit. The kids had seen pictures of the Grand Canyon and Mount Rushmore but couldn't name other famous landmarks or where they were located. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, Yosemite, Liberty Bell, Alamo, Gateway Arch, Space Needle, Golden Gate Bridge, Statue of Liberty, monument, landmark, park, famous, and America. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the names finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about which landmark has four presidents carved into it. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple mountain and bridge drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one landmark and write its location on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
