Fathers Day Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Fathers Day Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this Father's Day vocabulary puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our June unit. The kids loved their dads but had no idea what words like Father's Day, appreciate, or hug meant when I tried to teach them about showing gratitude. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Father, Dad, Father's Day, June, love, appreciate, thank you, hug, kiss, card, gift, tie, BBQ, family, and celebrate. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the Father's Day vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a tie is still a good Father's Day gift. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple tie, heart, and card drawings but nothing too busy. Works for K through 3rd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one reason they appreciate their dad on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Psychology Basics for Teens word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
Psychology Basics for Teens word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this psychology basics puzzle set for my 4th and 5th graders during our introduction to the mind and behavior unit. The kids had all sorts of questions about why people act the way they do, but they had no idea what words like psychology , behavior , cognition , or mental health actually meant in a scientific context. They also kept mixing up the different goals of psychology —who studies what and why. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using foundational terms like psychology , behavior , cognition , hypothesis , theory , scientific method , psychologist , psychiatry , emotion , perception , motivation , consciousness , conditioning , memory , development , personality , stress , mental health , and therapy . I also threw in a few like "empathy," "identity," "unconscious," and "conditioning" because they kept coming up in our class discussions about how we learn and why we feel the things we do . The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess, and the scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "psychology" (it's a tricky one with that silent 'p') or whether a psychologist and a psychiatrist are the same thing (they're not—one is a medical doctor who can prescribe medication, the other has a doctorate in psychology and focuses on therapy and research, and the kids always have opinions about it). The crossword I use for partners or as a review, and I usually have a simple "What is Psychology?" anchor chart or a list of the major perspectives—biological, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, social, and humanistic—nearby for the kids who need the visual support to connect the words to the concepts . I also added a couple simple brain, speech bubble, and magnifying glass drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 6th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one word from the puzzles and write a sentence about what psychology means in their own words on the back, or I ask them to name one thing they'd like to learn about the brain. The kids actually ask for these now.

Problem-Solving Steps word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this problem-solving steps puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our social-emotional learning unit. The kids could solve simple problems but had no idea what words like identify, think, or choose meant when we talked about the steps to solve a problem. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like identify, think, brainstorm, solution, choose, try, check, help, ask, calm, and solve. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the problem-solving vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether brainstorming is just listing ideas or the best way to find a solution. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple puzzle piece, lightbulb, and arrow drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write the steps to solve a problem they had on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

The Circulatory System word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this circulatory system puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our human body unit. The kids knew the heart pumped blood but had no idea about arteries, veins, or why blood needed to go everywhere in the body. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like heart, blood, vessel, artery, vein, capillary, oxygen, nutrient, pump, circulate, red blood cell, white blood cell, platelet, lung, and aorta. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally click. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether all blood vessels carry oxygen. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple heart and arrow drawings showing blood flow but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name two things blood carries through the body on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Earth Day word Scramble puzzle worksheet
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
Earth Day word Scramble puzzle worksheet activity Earth Day Word Scramble Worksheet I made this Earth Day word scramble for my 3rd grade class last April, and it was a hit! It's a simple 2-page printable with 24 environmental terms that get kids thinking about our planet. You'll find everyday words like "recycle" mixed with science terms like "ecosystem" - all scrambled up for students to solve. When we used this last year, my students worked in pairs to unscramble words while we waited for our classroom recycling project to begin. The activity kept them focused on Earth Day topics in a fun way. Some kids even asked if they could take extra copies home to teach their families the words! The worksheet includes: • Page 1: The word scramble with space for answers • Page 2: An answer key for easy checking I chose words we actually use during Earth Day activities: Easy: "tree," "clean" Medium: "compost," "habitat" Challenge: "biodegradable," "conservation" Perfect for: • Earth Day celebrations • Science class warm-ups • Early finishers in April • Environmental club meetings Format: No-fuss PDF (2 pages) Teacher Tip: Have students underline their favorite earth-friendly word and use it in a sentence!

Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
Grade 3 Parts of Speech word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this parts of speech puzzle set for my 3rd graders during our grammar unit. The kids could use words correctly in sentences but had no idea what nouns, verbs, or adjectives were called or what the difference was between them. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like noun, verb, adjective, adverb, pronoun, preposition, conjunction, interjection, article, and part of speech . I also threw in a few examples like "happy" (adjective), "run" (verb), "slowly" (adverb), and "dog" (noun) so they could see the words in context . Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or independent practice. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "conjunction" (it's a tricky one) or whether "run" is always a verb (it's not—they always have opinions about it when we talk about how "run" can be a noun in "a run in my stocking") . The crossword I use for partners or as a review, and I usually have a parts of speech anchor chart nearby for the kids who need the visual support to see the definitions and examples . Job Interview Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Job Interview Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this job interview vocabulary puzzle set for my 4th and 5th graders during our career exploration unit. The kids had heard of interviews but had no idea what words like interview, questions, or first impression meant when we talked about getting a job. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like interview, questions, answers, practice, prepare, first impression, confident, nervous, smile, eye contact, resume, job, and experience. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the interview vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether you should practice your answers before an interview. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple suit, handshake, and clipboard drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one question they would ask in an interview on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Swimming Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Swimming Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this swimming puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our water safety and sports unit. The kids loved to swim but had no idea what words like stroke, float, or freestyle meant. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like swim, stroke, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, kick, float, paddle, tread, dive, shallow, deep, lane, lap, goggles, cap, pool, water, breath, and swimmer. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the swimming vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about which swimming stroke is the fastest. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple swimmer, wave, and goggles drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name one swimming safety rule on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
