Space Exploration Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzl

Space Exploration Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzl
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Space Exploration Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this space exploration puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our space unit. The kids had heard of astronauts and rockets but didn't know words like orbit, rover, or space station. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like astronaut, rocket, satellite, space station, rover, telescope, orbit, launch, gravity, moon landing, shuttle, probe, Mars rover, and International Space Station. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary feel real to them. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue over how to spell "astronaut" or what a probe does. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple rocket and helmet drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one fact about space exploration on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Grade 3 Synonyms and Antonyms word search, scramble and crossword puzz

Grade 3 Synonyms and Antonyms word search, scramble and crossword puzz
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

Grade 3 Synonyms and Antonyms word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this synonyms and antonyms puzzle set for my 3rd graders during our vocabulary unit. The kids could say a word was "like" another, but they had no idea what words like synonym, antonym, or opposite meant when we started using the vocabulary. They also kept mixing up the two terms and couldn't tell which was which in a sentence. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using pairs like big/large (synonym) and big/small (antonym), hot/warm and hot/cold, fast/quick and fast/slow, happy/joyful and happy/sad, and more. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the concepts finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or independent practice. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "synonym" (it's a tricky one) or whether a synonym and an antonym are the same thing (they're not—they always have opinions about it). The crossword I use for partners or as a review, and I usually have a list of synonyms and antonyms nearby for the kids who need the extra support. I added a couple simple happy/sad face and big/small object drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one synonym and one antonym for a word of their choice on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Time Elapsed Time word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this elapsed time puzzle set for my 3rd graders during our math unit. The kids could read a clock but had no idea how to figure out how much time passed between lunch and recess. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like elapsed time, start time, end time, duration, how long, hours, minutes, later, earlier, after, before, schedule, timeline, and AM/PM. Examples include from 2:00 to 3:00, 10:15 to 10:45, and 8:30 to 10:00. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the elapsed time concept finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about how many minutes are between 9:45 and 10:15. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple timeline and clock drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers find the elapsed time from 7:20 AM to 7:50 AM on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Mothers Day Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this Mother's Day vocabulary puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our May unit. The kids loved their moms but had no idea what words like Mother's Day, appreciate, or hug meant when I tried to teach them about showing gratitude. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Mother, Mom, Mother's Day, May, love, appreciate, thank you, hug, kiss, card, flower, gift, breakfast, family, and celebrate. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the Mother's Day vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a hug is better than a gift. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple heart, flower, and card drawings but nothing too busy. Works for K through 3rd grade. Print and go. Life Cycle of a Frog word search, scramble and crossword puzzles
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Life Science word search, scramble and crossword puzzle activity ⭐ I made this frog life cycle puzzle set one afternoon when my 2nd graders were supposed to be learning about metamorphosis but honestly they were too wiggly to sit through another diagram. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like "tadpole," "eggs," "froglet," and "lungs." The scramble gets them talking because they always mix up the letters for "amphibian." ⭐ The PDF is five pages. Three puzzles and two answer keys. I use the word search after recess when they need to be quiet. The crossword works better for partners. The scramble is good for morning work or early finishers. Simple drawings of eggs and a tadpole are on there but nothing too busy. ⭐ This works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have kids pick one word and draw the stage of the life cycle that goes with it on the back. Takes almost no prep and they actually stay focused.
