Roll up your sleeves (and maybe pass the gravy) with the Helping Hands Writing Prompt! This Thanksgiving activity encourages kids to think about how they can lend a hand, without accidentally dropping the turkey. Writing and drawing come together in this heartwarming and hilarious project that showcases the many ways we can help others during the holiday season. First, kids will reflect on all the ways they’ve been helpful, or could be helpful, this Thanksgiving. Will they set the table without sneak-eating the rolls? Offer to do the dishes instead of disappearing into a pumpkin pie coma? Or maybe their “helping hands” involve cheering up a cranky relative with a joke about turkeys crossing the road. Whatever their helping superpower, it’s time to put it into words. Next, the artistic fun begins! Kids will draw their very own “helping hands,” complete with doodles of their Thanksgiving good deeds. Add in some colorful crayons, markers, or glitter (if you dare), and these hands will be ready to hang on the fridge, the classroom wall, or right next to the dessert table for everyone to admire. Perfect for inspiring gratitude, creativity, and just a touch of turkey humor, this activity is all about making Thanksgiving more special, one helping hand at a time! Enjoy!

Kindergarten My Body word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Kindergarten My Body word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

Kindergarten My Body word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this My Body puzzle set for my Kindergarteners during our beginning of the year health unit. The kids could point to body parts but had no idea what words like stomach, elbow, or chin meant when we started naming them. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like head, hair, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, teeth, neck, shoulders, arms, elbows, hands, fingers, chest, stomach, back, hips, legs, knees, ankles, feet, and toes. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "shoulders" or whether the elbow is above or below the shoulder. The crossword I use for partners or as a review, and I usually have a body poster or a drawing of a child with labels nearby for the kids who need visual support. I added a couple simple body outline and face drawings but nothing too busy. Works for Pre-K through 1st grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw a picture of themselves and label a few body parts on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Digraphs word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this digraphs puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our phonics unit. The kids could sound out individual letters but got confused when two letters made one new sound, like "sh," "ch," or "th." So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like ship, shop, fish, brush, shell, shoe, chair, cheese, lunch, chin, beach, chalk, thumb, three, bath, moth, math, whale, wheel, whistle, phone, photo, graph, sock, lock, duck, and chick. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the sh, ch, th, wh, ph, and ck digraphs finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "wh" sounds different from "w." The crossword I use for partners with picture clues. I added a couple simple ship, chair, thumb, and phone drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 1st through 3rd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers list two words for each digraph on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Bring on the Thanksgiving Color by Number fun, where crayons meet comedy! These five pages are packed with festive designs like turkeys who forgot it’s November, pumpkins vying for pie stardom, and a cornucopia so full it’s practically saying, “Don’t judge me, it’s the holidays.” Each section is labeled with a number, and each number matches a color, simple, right? Unless you’re that one kid who insists on making the turkey purple because, and I quote, “It’s my artistic vision.” And honestly, who are we to argue? As your students work through these pages, they’ll unveil cheerful Thanksgiving scenes without even realizing they’re practicing focus and color-matching skills. It’s educational, but let’s keep that between us, no need to ruin the fun with big words. Whether it’s coloring a pumpkin the perfect shade of orange or accidentally turning a pie into an unintentional masterpiece, these pages are guaranteed to deliver laughs and creativity. No stress, no prep, and no arguments over who gets the last crayon. Just good old-fashioned fun—well, as old-fashioned as numbered coloring can get. So, grab your art supplies, and let’s make this Thanksgiving more colorful than Uncle Bob’s questionable holiday sweater. Enjoy!
