Weather Instruments Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puz

Weather Instruments Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puz
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

Weather Instruments Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this weather instruments puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our weather unit. The kids could tell me if it was sunny or rainy, but they had no idea what instruments like thermometer , barometer , or anemometer were used for, or how they measured things like temperature, pressure, and wind speed . They kept mixing up which instrument measured what, and they always asked whether a weather vane and a wind sock were the same thing . So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like thermometer, barometer, anemometer, wind vane, rain gauge, hygrometer, weather balloon, satellite, radar, wind sock, and weather station. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess, and the scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of anemometer (it's a tricky one) or whether a barometer and a thermometer are the same thing (they're not—they always have opinions about it) . The crossword I use for partners or as a review, and I usually have simple diagrams of each instrument and what they measure (temperature, pressure, wind speed, humidity, rainfall) nearby for the kids who need the visual support to see the differences . I added a couple simple thermometer, rain gauge, and wind vane drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one instrument and write a sentence about what it measures on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Even and Odd Numbers word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this even and odd numbers puzzle set for my 2nd graders during our math unit. The kids could count but had no idea what made a number even or odd or how to tell by looking at the last digit. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like even, odd, zero, two, four, six, eight, one, three, five, seven, nine, pair, group, share, remainder, last digit, and pattern. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the even/odd concept finally click. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether zero is even. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple pair of socks and single shoe drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 3rd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers list five even numbers and five odd numbers on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Persuasive Writing Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzz
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Persuasive Writing Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this persuasive writing puzzle set for my 4th graders during our writing unit. The kids could state an opinion but had no idea what words like claim, evidence, or counterargument meant. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like opinion, claim, reason, evidence, fact, example, persuade, convince, audience, counterargument, rebuttal, conclusion, powerful, convince, and call to action. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the persuasive vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the difference between a claim and an opinion. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple speech bubble and megaphone drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write a claim about school uniforms and one reason to support it on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Giraffe Craft word Scramble puzzle worksheet

Giraffe Craft word Scramble puzzle worksheet
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

Giraffe Craft word Scramble puzzle worksheet activity Giraffe Word Scramble Worksheet Here's a fun animal-themed word scramble I created for my 2nd grade class during our zoo unit. This 2-page printable has 24 giraffe-related words ranging from simple ("leaf") to challenging ("herbivore"). I tested this last year when we were making paper giraffe crafts - the kids enjoyed unscrambling the words while waiting for their turn at the art station. The worksheet helped reinforce our science vocabulary in a playful way. You'll find: Basic words like "neck" and "spots" Science terms like "ruminant" and "savanna" Craft-related words like "glue" and "pattern" Great for: • Zoo animal units • Art class time-fillers • Rainy day recess • Vocabulary practice The clean layout makes it easy to read, with big boxes for writing answers. Page 2 has all the solutions - I keep a copy at my desk for quick checking. Some kids like to race against the clock, while others work at their own pace. Last year, my students got especially curious about the word "ossicones" (those little horn things on giraffes' heads) after finding it in the puzzle! Word examples: tall (easy) acacia (medium) prehensile (challenge) Format: PDF (2 pages - activity + answers) Teacher tip: Have students draw a giraffe using one of the words they unscrambled!

Numbers 1–100 word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Numbers 1–100 word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Numbers 1–100 word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this numbers 1–100 puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our math unit. The kids could count but got tripped up on the tricky number words like "forty" versus "fourteen" or "eighty" versus "eighteen." So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using numbers twenty, thirty, forty, fifty, sixty, seventy, eighty, ninety, one hundred, and mixed teens like fourteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, and nineteen. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the number word patterns finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "forty" has a U like "four." The crossword I use for partners with number clues. I added a couple simple number chart and star drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 1st through 3rd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write the missing number words for 70, 80, and 90 on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
