Weather Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Weather Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Weather Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this weather vocabulary puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our Earth science unit. The kids could name rain and snow but got lost when I threw in words like barometer, condensation, and front. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like atmosphere, precipitation, evaporation, condensation, cumulus, stratus, barometer, thermometer, front, thunderstorm, tornado, and hurricane. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the terms finally sink in. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue over how to spell "precipitation" or "barometer." The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple cloud and sun drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick three words and use them in a weather forecast sentence on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

The Recess Debate - Back to School Reading Comprehension

The Recess Debate - Back to School Reading Comprehension
ELA, Language Development, Reading, Reading Comprehension, Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Back To School, First Day of School, Months, September, Grade 3, 4, 5, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets, Teacher Tools, Assessments, Lesson Plans, Activities

The Recess Debate Reading Comprehension is a fun and engaging way to get your 3rd–5th grade students thinking critically right from the start of the school year. The passage tells the story of a school discussing whether recess should be longer, shorter, or stay the same. Students will see different opinions, reasons, and examples, making it a great way to spark classroom discussion. Ways to use this resource: As a back to school reading activity to warm up comprehension skills. To introduce persuasive or opinion writing. For small group discussions or partner reading. As a quick assessment to check reading and critical thinking levels. Advantages for teachers: Ready to use, just print and go. Encourages students to think about both sides of an issue. Fits perfectly into reading, writing, or social studies lessons. Helps build skills in identifying main ideas, supporting details, and author’s purpose. Flexible, can be used for independent work, group work, or homework. This activity not only gets your students reading but also talking, thinking, and sharing their own ideas about something they care about, recess! Enjoy!

Grade 5 Elections and Government word search, scramble and crossword p
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

Grade 5 Elections and Government word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this elections and government puzzle set for my 5th graders during our civics unit. The kids knew about voting and the President, but they kept mixing up the three branches and didn't know the difference between a bill and a law. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like democracy, Constitution, candidate, campaign, ballot, vote, election, Congress, House of Representatives, Senate, Executive Branch, Legislative Branch, Judicial Branch, President, governor, mayor, bill, veto, amendment, and rights . I also made sure to include "responsibility" and "citizen" because the kids need to know what it means to be a good citizen . The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the difference between the Senate and the House of Representatives. The crossword I use for partners or as a review, and I usually have a branches of government chart nearby for the kids who need a visual . Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name one thing the President can do and one thing Congress can do on the back. The kids actually ask for these now. Revisit government roles alongside election vocabulary with these branches of government puzzles .

Puzzle and Logic Terms word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

Puzzle and Logic Terms word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this puzzle and logic terms puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our critical thinking and indoor recess unit. The kids loved solving puzzles, but they had no idea what words like strategy, sequence, or logic meant when we talked about how to think through a problem. They also kept mixing up words like “brain teaser” and “puzzle.” So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like puzzle, logic, brain teaser, sequence, pattern, solve, clue, reasoning, strategy, and problem . Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess, and the scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of “strategy” or whether a brain teaser is the same as a riddle . The crossword I use for partners or as a review after we've solved a few puzzles together. I added a couple simple question mark, lightbulb, and puzzle piece drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write their own riddle or puzzle using three words from the puzzle on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using those words plus a few animals. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help them practice. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search is good for quiet time after lunch. The scramble gets them talking because they argue over how to spell "tundra" or whether "wetland" is one word. The crossword I save for partners. Motivation Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Motivation Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this motivation vocabulary puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our social-emotional learning unit. The kids could feel like giving up sometimes but had no idea what words like motivation, goal, or inspire meant when we talked about what keeps us going. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like motivation, goal, inspire, try, keep going, dream, focus, and drive. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the motivation vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether motivation comes from inside or from others. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple star, rocket, and finish line drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one goal they have for the school year on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
