Earth Science word search, scramble and crossword ⭐I made this tundra biome puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our habitats unit. The kids thought the tundra was just "snow and cold" and kept zoning out when I tried to explain permafrost and adaptations. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like permafrost, caribou, arctic fox, polar bear, snowy owl, lichen, migrate, and blubber. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to keep them learning. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search is good for quiet time after lunch. The scramble gets them talking because they argue over how to spell "permafrost" or "caribou." The crossword I save for partners. I added a couple simple snowflake and paw print drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I ask early finishers to pick one animal and write how it survives the cold on the back. The kids actually like these.

The kids could make things with clay but had no idea what words like carve, mold, or armature meant when I asked them to describe their 3D projects. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like sculpture, carve, mold, clay, stone, metal, wood, plaster, wire, armature, additive, subtractive, form, texture, space, statue, pedestal, and installation. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the sculpture vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after art class or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether carving is additive or subtractive sculpture. The crossword I use for partners or as a review before a quiz. I added a couple simple hammer and chisel drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name one type of sculpture material on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

The kids were mixing up "germination" and "seedling" so I needed something low pressure but still useful. It's a word search and a word scramble combined on one page. Nothing fancy. ⭐ The PDF is two pages — one student page and one answer key. I added a tiny seed drawing but kept it simple so it prints fine in black and white. The scramble trips them up on "cotyledon" every time which is actually good because then they ask and remember it. Word search is easier so I use that one for early finishers. ⭐ Works for grades 2 through 4. Print and go. Sometimes I tell them to pick one word and draw the stage it belongs to on the back. Takes about 15 minutes depending on the kid. They like it better than a worksheet.

Help your elementary students practice budgeting and financial literacy skills as they plan for the winter holidays. An excellent thematic math lesson to use in the week or two before winter holidays when you need to capture your students' attention while still working on math curriculum! In this Christmas Budget Math Project students will have to try the whole budgeting process: explain where they will get their shopping money for the holidays, plan who to shop for, look through fliers or online to find items to buy, and stick to their budgets! This may require adding items up and realizing they have spent too much. There may be trade-offs made during the process, which is a great preview of real life! There is also room to write a reflection after the activity to help stimulate a class discussion about financial literacy and budgeting. Grades to Use With: This project is designed to be used in elementary classrooms including 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade. Students will need to be able to add decimal numbers by hand or with a calculator. It could also be used in special education classrooms in the middle years where appropriate. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about how many bones are in the human body. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple bone outline drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name three bones and where they are located on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

The preparation required is minimal. The materials are printed, distributed, and then the students begin the activity. Occasionally, students are instructed to highlight or circle their preferred word and use it in a sentence. This extends the activity beyond simple enjoyment and enhances its educational value.

Irregular Verbs word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this irregular verbs puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our grammar unit. The kids could add "ed" to make regular past tense verbs but had no idea what to do with words like "go," "see," or "eat." So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using irregular verb pairs like go/went, see/saw, eat/ate, run/ran, sing/sang, drink/drank, swim/swam, begin/began, break/broke, choose/chose, speak/spoke, steal/stole, throw/threw, write/wrote, and drive/drove.
