March Break Holi word Scramble puzzle worksheet

March Break Holi word Scramble puzzle worksheet
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

March Break Holi word Scramble puzzle worksheet activity March Break & Holi Word Scramble – Double the Festive Fun I made this for my after-school program when kids were bouncing off the walls before spring break. They unscramble 24 lively terms mixing March Break fun ("vacation," "sleepover") and Holi traditions ("gulal," "pichkari")—then use the words to create wild holiday mashup stories ("My suitcase exploded with purple powder !"). What’s Inside: ✔ 2 printable pages (scramble + answer key) ✔ Bonus "Color War" challenge (match Hindi color words to English) ✔ Vibrant clipart (suitcases, water guns, rainbows) Teacher Tale: "A student solved ‘OLHICAY’ ( holiday ) and announced their family’s flying to India for Holi—cue 20 kids begging for invites!" – Ms. P., 3rd Grade Perfect For: • Pre-break chaos management • Multicultural celebrations • ESL spring vocabulary Sample Scrambles: TIONAVAC (Answer: vacation ) RAGUL (Answer: gular ) HICRAKP (Answer: pichkari ) Pro Tip: Sprinkle colored rice on tables—kids can "write" solved words in it! (Easy cleanup: tape paper plates under chairs.

National Superhero Day word search puzzle worksheet activity National Superhero Day Word Search - Classroom Activity I made this superhero word search for my 3rd graders last year when we celebrated National Superhero Day on April 28th. It's a simple 2-page PDF with 24 superhero-themed words hidden in the puzzle - basic terms like "hero," "cape," and "save" mixed with some comic book words like "villain" and "sidekick." The kids loved racing to find words while we played superhero theme music in the background. I printed them on bright blue and red paper to make it feel special. You'll find: • Page 1: The word search grid with all words hidden across, down, and diagonal • Page 2: An answer key for easy checking I use this activity when: Celebrating National Superhero Day Needing a fun Friday afternoon activity Teaching character traits (bravery, helping others) Looking for an engaging indoor recess option The words I chose are ones kids actually know from movies and books - "powers," "mask," "rescue" - not obscure comic terms. Last year, we had great discussions about what makes someone a real-life superhero after completing the puzzle. Format: Plain PDF (2 pages) Teacher Tip: Have students circle their favorite word and explain why they chose it!

Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Basic Spanish Classroom Objects word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this basic Spanish classroom objects puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our Spanish unit. The kids could name things in the classroom in English but had no idea what words like lápiz, libro, or mesa meant when we started learning Spanish. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like lápiz, libro, mesa, silla, puerta, ventana, pizarra, tiza, borrador, mochila, cuaderno, and regla. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the Spanish classroom vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "pizarra" is a whiteboard or a chalkboard. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple desk, pencil, and book drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers label three objects in their classroom in Spanish on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Simple Machines word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this simple machines puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our physical science unit. The kids used scissors and ramps every day but had no idea they were looking at simple machines. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like lever, pulley, wheel and axle, inclined plane, screw, wedge, fulcrum, load, effort, force, simple machine, compound machine, seesaw, flagpole, and ramp. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the names and functions finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. Butterflies Life Cycle and Species word search, scramble and crossword

Butterflies Life Cycle and Species word search, scramble and crossword
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

Butterflies Life Cycle and Species word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this butterflies puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our spring science unit. The kids knew butterflies were pretty, but they had no idea about the four stages of their life cycle, what words like chrysalis, metamorphosis , or proboscis meant, or that monarchs migrate thousands of miles . They also kept mixing up the caterpillar stage with the adult stage. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using the key life cycle vocabulary: egg, larva, caterpillar, pupa, chrysalis, adult, metamorphosis, proboscis, nectar, migration, monarch, wings, antennae, and insect . The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of chrysalis (it’s a tricky one) or whether a caterpillar and a larva are the same thing (they are—the kids always have opinions about it) . The crossword I use for partners, and I usually have a life cycle diagram and a picture of a proboscis nearby for the kids who need the visual support . Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw and label the four life cycle stages on the back, or write one way butterflies help plants grow . The kids actually ask for these now.

Philosophy for Kids Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puz
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

Philosophy for Kids Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this philosophy for kids puzzle set for my 4th graders during our "big questions" unit. The kids loved asking questions like "What is real?" and "Does anything really matter?" but they had no idea what words like philosophy, ethics, or justice meant when we started talking about how to think about those questions. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like philosophy, ethics, justice, truth, reality, fairness, logic, wisdom, happiness, and knowledge . I also made sure to include a few like "Plato" and "Socrates" because they kept asking who came up with the big ideas . The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess, and the scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "philosophy" (that tricky 'ph' always gets them) or whether ethics and justice are the same thing (they're not—ethics is about personal or group standards of right and wrong, while justice is about fairness in society). The crossword I use for partners or as a review after a lesson, and I usually have a list of the big questions we've been discussing nearby for the kids who need a visual to connect the vocabulary to the conversations . I added a couple simple thought bubble and question mark drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 6th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one word from the puzzle and write a question they have about it on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Self-Esteem Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this self-esteem puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our social-emotional learning unit. The kids could be hard on themselves but had no idea what words like confidence, value, or unique meant. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like self-esteem, confidence, believe, value, worth, proud, strong, capable, unique, special, talent, skill, effort, improve, mistake, learn, grow, kind, respect, and yourself. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the self-esteem vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether everyone is good at something. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple mirror, heart, and star drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one thing they like about themselves on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
