If I Were a Nurse: Writing & Drawing Prompt Grab a bandage and a big imagination, this If I Were a Nurse writing and drawing activity is just what the classroom doctor ordered! Perfect for K–2 learners, this resource invites students to step into the shoes (or comfy sneakers) of a real-life hero: the nurse. Students will write about what they would do as a nurse, whether it’s helping patients, giving out superhero-level band-aids, or cheering people up with extra stickers. Then, they’ll illustrate their day in the life of a nurse with a fun drawing section. Expect adorable stethoscopes, smiley patients, and probably a few glittery thermometers. Ways to Use: Great for community helpers units or health-themed weeks. Ideal for writing centers, early finishers, or emergency sub plans (nurse pun totally intended). Works as a career exploration activity for little learners. Display finished work on a bulletin board for an adorable hallway gallery. Advantages: Encourages empathy and appreciation for healthcare workers. Builds creative writing and fine motor skills. Super low-prep, just print and go! Doubles as a sweet Mother’s Day card if mom’s a nurse (bonus!). Pdf file includes 2 pages Enjoy!

Lab Safety Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Lab Safety Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Lab Safety Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this lab safety puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders at the start of our science year. The kids were excited to do experiments but had no idea why we needed goggles or what to do if something spilled. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like goggles, apron, gloves, safety, hazard, caution, warning, spill, clean up, wash hands, tie back hair, closed toe shoes, no eating, ask teacher, and first aid. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the safety rules stick before we start any hands-on activities. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether you really need goggles for every experiment. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple safety goggles and flask drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers list three lab safety rules on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Labor Day Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Labor Day Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this Labor Day vocabulary puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our September unit. The kids loved the long weekend but had no idea what words like labor, worker, or community meant when we talked about why we celebrate. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Labor Day, worker, job, community, helper, teacher, firefighter, police, doctor, nurse, farmer, construction, celebrate, Monday, September, and rest. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the Labor Day vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether teachers should be celebrated on Labor Day. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple tool, hard hat, and star drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name one job a person in their family has on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Tobacco and Its Effects word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this tobacco puzzle set for my 4th and 5th graders during our health unit. The kids had seen cigarettes and vaping but had no idea what nicotine was or how smoking damaged the body. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like tobacco, nicotine, cigarette, cigar, vape, e-cigarette, smoke, vaping, lungs, breathing, cancer, heart, stain, teeth, smell, addiction, harmful, chemical, tar, carbon monoxide, disease, quit, and healthy. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the tobacco facts finally stick without lecturing. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether vaping is safer than smoking. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple lung, tooth, and no smoking sign drawings but nothing too graphic. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name two ways smoking hurts your body on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
