First Aid Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
First Aid Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this first aid puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our health and safety unit. The kids could get a scrape but had no idea what to do or what words like bandage, antiseptic, or ice pack meant. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like first aid, bandage, gauze, tape, antiseptic, wipe, ice pack, heat pack, cut, scrape, bruise, burn, blister, splinter, nosebleed, call for help, 911, emergency, and kit. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the first aid vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether you should run cold water over a burn. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple bandage, ice pack, and first aid kit drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name three items in a first aid kit on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Spanish Adjectives word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this Spanish adjectives puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our Spanish unit. The kids could describe things in English but had no idea what words like grande, pequeño, or bonito meant when we started learning Spanish adjectives. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like grande, pequeño, bonito, feo, rápido, lento, alto, bajo, viejo, nuevo, feliz, triste, and enojado. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the Spanish adjective vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether adjectives come before or after the noun in Spanish. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple big and small object drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers describe an object in the room using a Spanish adjective on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Debate and Public Speaking word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
Debate and Public Speaking word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this debate and public speaking puzzle set for my 4th graders during our communication skills unit. The kids could argue just fine, but they had no idea what words like claim, evidence, or rebuttal meant when we talked about the parts of an argument. They also kept mixing up "argument" and "disagreement" or weren't sure what a "closing statement" was for . So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like debate, claim, evidence, reasoning, rebuttal, counterargument, opening statement, closing statement, eye contact, posture, volume, and practice . I also threw in a few like "pacing" and "gesture" because they came up when we watched videos of kids giving speeches . The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "rebuttal" or whether a "counterargument" is just a fancy word for "disagreement" . The crossword I use for partners or as a review after we've practiced a few rounds of debate . I added a couple simple podium, microphone, and speech bubble drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 6th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one claim they could use in a debate on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Coloring acrostic poems for Father's Day - write and color
Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Father's Day, Not Grade Specific, Coloring Pages, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
15 Father’s day coloring acrostic poems. pdf format You'll find words or sentences for all levels. Examples: Short and easy poems (DAD) + longer poems (SUPERDAD / I LOVE YOU) Let’s write acrostic poems about Father’s Day ! Did you know ? Origins of Father’s Day - On July 5, 1908, a West Virginia church sponsored the nation’s first event explicitly in honor of fathers, a Sunday sermon in memory of the 362 men who had died in the previous December’s explosions at the Fairmont Coal Company mines in Monongah, but it was a one-time commemoration and not an annual holiday. The next year, a Spokane, Washington, woman named Sonora Smart Dodd, one of six children raised by a widower, tried to establish an official equivalent to Mother’s Day for male parents. She went to local churches, the YMCA, shopkeepers and government officials to drum up support for her idea, and she was successful: Washington State celebrated the nation’s first statewide Father’s Day on June 19, 1910. Slowly, the holiday spread. In 1916, President Wilson honored the day by using telegraph signals to unfurl a flag in Spokane when he pressed a button in Washington, D.C. In 1924, President Calvin Coolidge urged state governments to observe Father’s Day. Today, the day honoring fathers is celebrated in the United States on the third Sunday of June: Father’s Day 2021 occurs on June 20. In other countries–especially in Europe and Latin America–fathers are honored on St. Joseph’s Day, a traditional Catholic holiday that falls on March 19.

So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like decimal, decimal point, tenths, hundredths, thousandths, place value, fraction, equivalent, compare, greater than, less than, whole number, part, money, and base ten. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the decimal terms finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether 0.5 and 0.50 are the same. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple decimal grids and money drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write 0.35 in words as "thirty-five hundredths" on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Energy Technology word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Energy Technology word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this energy technology puzzle set for my 4th graders during our STEM and Earth science unit. The kids knew about electricity but had no idea what words like solar, wind, or turbine meant when we talked about how we get energy. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like solar, wind, turbine, battery, renewable, nonrenewable, power, energy, fuel, and generate. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the energy tech vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether solar energy works when the sun isn't shining. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple solar panel, wind turbine, and battery drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name one renewable energy source on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Word search & scramble puzzle worksheet activities for kids 2nd and 3rd grades to 4th and 5th grades, also solution for the puzzles is included ⭐ This document contains a word search and a word scramble activity. The materials were created during an afternoon when student engagement was low. The objective was to provide an activity that resembled a game while also stimulating cognitive function. The puzzles proved effective in achieving this goal. The PDF document is four pages in length. It includes two puzzles for student use (a word search and a word scramble) and two answer keys. Visual elements are incorporated to enhance engagement without causing distraction. The graphics are designed to be appropriate for the target audience. ⭐ The students in the class find these items enjoyable. They work on them in groups during the morning session, or they are provided to students who complete their work early to occupy their time. The word search activity has also been utilized as a quiet activity following recess. The word scramble activity often initiates discussions, such as the correct form of the word "recycle." The preparation required is minimal. The materials are printed, distributed, and then the students begin the activity. Occasionally, students are instructed to highlight or circle their preferred word and use it in a sentence. This extends the activity beyond simple enjoyment and enhances its educational value.
