Emotion Words Happy Sad Angry word search, scramble and crossword puzz
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Emotion Words Happy Sad Angry word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this emotion words puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our social-emotional learning unit. The kids could say "happy" or "sad" but had no idea what words like "frustrated," "nervous," or "jealous" meant when we talked about feelings. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like happy, sad, angry, mad, scared, worried, nervous, excited, surprised, confused, frustrated, proud, calm, tired, silly, lonely, and loved. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the feeling vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "nervous" feels different from "worried." The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple smile, frown, and surprised face drawings but nothing too busy. Works for K through 3rd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw a face showing an emotion and name it on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

National Tartan Day word Scramble puzzle worksheet activity National Tartan Day Word Scramble - Celebrate Scottish Heritage! I made this tartan-themed word scramble for my 3rd grade class when we studied world cultures last April. It's a simple 2-page PDF with 24 scrambled words about Scottish traditions - from easy ones like "kilt" and "plaid" to harder terms like "bagpipes" and "highlander." When we used this last year, my students loved racing to unscramble "sporran" (that furry pouch kilts have) after we watched a video about Scottish dress. The worksheet kept them engaged while I set up our tartan pattern art project. You'll get: • Page 1: The word scramble activity in large, clear print • Page 2: An answer key for quick checking Perfect for: National Tartan Day (April 6) World cultures units Fun activities before spring break I included words we actually encountered in our Scotland studies - "clan," "thistle," even "haggis" which made the kids giggle. The Celtic music playing in the background really set the mood while they worked! Format: No-fuss PDF (2 pages) Teacher Tip: Have students circle the most surprising Scottish word they discover!

Quadrilaterals word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Quadrilaterals word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this quadrilaterals puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our geometry unit. The kids could name a square and a rectangle but had no idea that trapezoids, rhombuses, and parallelograms were also quadrilaterals. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like quadrilateral, four, sides, vertices, square, rectangle, rhombus, parallelogram, trapezoid, right angle, parallel, equal sides, opposite sides, polygon, and shape. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the quadrilateral family finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a square is also a rhombus. The crossword I use for partners with picture clues. I added a couple simple square, rectangle, rhombus, and trapezoid drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers list four different quadrilaterals on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Turn Thanksgiving nostalgia into a creative masterpiece with the A Special Thanksgiving Memory Writing Prompt! This activity invites kids to stroll down memory lane (or at least last year’s kitchen chaos) to write and draw about their favorite Thanksgiving moment. Whether it’s Grandma’s famous pumpkin pie, a hilarious turkey mishap, or the time Uncle Joe fell asleep mid-sentence, no memory is too big or small to make the cut. First, students will put their storytelling hats on, probably stretchy ones to accommodate post-Thanksgiving feast bellies, and write about a memory that makes them smile, laugh, or even drool a little. Was it the parade, a backyard football game, or sneaking the first bite of dessert? This writing prompt gets their creative juices flowing faster than cranberry sauce out of a can. Once the words are on the page, it’s time to bring the memory to life with a colorful drawing. Turkeys with personality, pies with sparkle, and family portraits (possibly featuring stick figures) turn the story into a visual masterpiece. This activity isn’t just fun, it’s a great way for kids to practice descriptive writing and reflect on what makes Thanksgiving truly special. Bonus: it’s calorie-free, but just as satisfying as a second helping of stuffing! Enjoy!

Variables and Expressions word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Variables and Expressions word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this variables and expressions puzzle set for my 5th graders during our algebra unit. The kids could solve problems with numbers but got confused when letters showed up in math. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like variable, letter, symbol, unknown, expression, term, coefficient, constant, operation, plus, minus, times, divided by, evaluate, and substitute. Examples include x + 5, 3y - 2, 4n, and a/2. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the algebra vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether 2x means 2 times x or the number 2x. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple x and question mark drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 5th through 6th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write an expression for "a number plus 7" on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
