Day of the Dead Día de los Muertos word search, scramble and crossword
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Day of the Dead Día de los Muertos word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this Day of the Dead vocabulary puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our fall cultural unit. The kids had heard of the holiday but had no idea what words like ofrenda, marigold, or sugar skull meant when we learned about different traditions around the world. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Día de los Muertos, ofrenda, altar, marigold, sugar skull, candle, incense, photo, memory, celebrate, ancestor, family, tradition, and November. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the Day of the Dead vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether the holiday is sad or joyful. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple sugar skull, marigold, and candle drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one thing they learned about Día de los Muertos on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Solar Energy word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this solar energy puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our renewable energy unit. The kids knew the sun was hot but had no idea how we turn sunlight into electricity. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like solar, energy, sun, panel, photovoltaic, cell, electricity, renewable, clean, power, rooftop, farm, battery, inverter, and light. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary make sense. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue over how a solar panel actually works. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple sun and panel drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name three things that could run on solar power on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Nothing fancy — just puzzles to keep them thinking without whining. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search is great for quiet time after recess. Newton's Laws of Motion word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this Newton's laws puzzle set for my 4th graders during our physical science unit. The kids knew things moved and stopped but had no idea why, and the word "inertia" just confused them at first. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Newton, law, motion, inertia, acceleration, action, reaction, force, mass, rest, constant speed, push, pull, equal, opposite, and balanced. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the three laws start to make sense. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about why a seatbelt keeps you safe using Newton's first law. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple ball and arrow drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one sentence explaining the first law in their own words on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Percentages Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this percentages vocabulary puzzle set for my 5th graders during our math unit. The kids had heard of 50% off sales but had no idea what percent meant or how it related to fractions and decimals. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like percent, percentage, out of 100, fraction, decimal, equivalent, convert, part, whole, 100%, half, quarter, tenth, discount, interest, and increase. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the percent terms finally click. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether 50% means half of something. The crossword I use for partners. Grade 7 Earth Science Deep Dive word search, scramble and crossword pu
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
Grade 7 Earth Science Deep Dive word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this Earth Science deep dive puzzle set for my 7th graders during our geology and Earth systems unit. The kids knew the basics but kept mixing up the layers of the Earth —especially the difference between the lithosphere and asthenosphere . They also had trouble distinguishing weathering from erosion , and they always forgot whether "basalt" was oceanic or continental crust . So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using vocabulary from the Earth science core: crust, mantle, outer core, inner core, lithosphere, asthenosphere, tectonic plates, continental drift, convergent boundary, divergent boundary, transform boundary, weathering, erosion, deposition, magma, lava, and the types of rocks in the rock cycle . The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess, and the scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "asthenosphere" or whether "lithosphere" and "crust" are the same thing (they're not—the lithosphere includes the crust and upper mantle) . The crossword I use for partners or as a review before a unit test, and I always have a diagram of Earth's layers and a plate boundary chart nearby for the kids who need the visual support to see the relationships between the concepts . I added a couple simple core, mantle, and crust drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 7th through 8th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw a cross-section of Earth's layers and label each one on the back, or name one type of plate boundary and what it creates (mountains, volcanoes, or earthquakes) . The kids actually ask for these now.

Famous Bridges word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
Famous Bridges word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this famous bridges puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our STEM unit. The kids could name the Golden Gate Bridge and maybe the Brooklyn Bridge, but they had no idea what words like suspension, arch, or truss meant when we talked about how different bridges stay up . They also had no clue that some bridges are named after their shape, like "tower" or "gate" . So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using names of famous bridges from around the world: Golden Gate Bridge, Tower Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Rialto Bridge, and the Great Belt Bridge . I threw in a few key engineering terms like suspension and arch because they kept coming up in our class discussions. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess, and the scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether the Golden Gate is in San Francisco or New York (the kids from California always win that one). The crossword I use for partners or as a review after we've looked at pictures of these famous structures . I added a couple simple arch, beam, and suspension bridge drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one bridge from the puzzles and draw a design for their own bridge on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Maybe it’s because friends make them laugh, cheer them up, or always share their last piece of gum. 🎨 Draw a picture to go with their writing. It could be a drawing of their best friend, a friendship moment, or even a "Friendship Award" for their favorite pal. Ways to Use This Activity: A writing center activity or morning warm-up. A kindness-themed class discussion starter. A great addition to a Valentine’s Day bulletin board. Why You’ll Love It: ✅ Encourages students to think about what makes friendships special. ✅ Strengthens writing and creativity skills. ✅ No sugar overload—just feel-good vibes! At the end of the day, a true friend is way better than a greeting card.

Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
Word search & scramble puzzle worksheet activities for kids 2nd and 3rd grades to 4th and 5th grades, also solution for the puzzles is included ⭐ This document contains a word search and a word scramble activity. The materials were created during an afternoon when student engagement was low. The objective was to provide an activity that resembled a game while also stimulating cognitive function. The puzzles proved effective in achieving this goal. The PDF document is four pages in length. It includes two puzzles for student use (a word search and a word scramble) and two answer keys. Visual elements are incorporated to enhance engagement without causing distraction. The graphics are designed to be appropriate for the target audience. ⭐ The students in the class find these items enjoyable. They work on them in groups during the morning session, or they are provided to students who complete their work early to occupy their time. The word search activity has also been utilized as a quiet activity following recess. The word scramble activity often initiates discussions, such as the correct form of the word "recycle." The preparation required is minimal. The materials are printed, distributed, and then the students begin the activity. Occasionally, students are instructed to highlight or circle their preferred word and use it in a sentence. This extends the activity beyond simple enjoyment and enhances its educational value.
