Creative Writing Terms word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Creative Writing Terms word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this creative writing terms puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our writing unit. The kids could tell a story but had no idea what words like plot, setting, or dialogue meant when I asked them to include specific elements. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like plot, setting, character, conflict, resolution, theme, dialogue, narration, description, imagery, mood, tone, voice, point of view, first person, third person, and creative. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the creative writing vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or during writing workshop. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether the plot and theme are the same thing. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple quill, notebook, and thought bubble drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name one element they always include in their stories on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary stick. ⭐The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they can never spell "salamander" right on the first try. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple lizard and frog drawings but nothing too busy. ⭐Works for 2nd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one animal and tell me if it's a reptile or amphibian on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the design vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after art class. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether balance means everything is exactly the same on both sides. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple balance scale, arrow, and grid drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name one principle of design and give an example on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Factors and Multiples word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Factors and Multiples word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this factors and multiples puzzle set for my 4th graders during our math unit. The kids kept mixing up which was which, saying "factors are numbers you multiply" and "multiples are numbers you count by" but still getting confused. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like factor, multiple, multiply, divide, product, factor pair, factor tree, common factor, common multiple, prime factor, least common multiple (LCM), greatest common factor (GCF), times table, and array. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the difference finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether 6 is a factor or multiple of 12. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple multiplication and division arrow drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers list all the factors of 12 on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Making a Budget word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Making a Budget word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this making a budget puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our economics unit. The kids could spend money but had no idea what words like budget, income, or saving meant when we talked about managing money. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like budget, income, spending, saving, goal, balance, needs, wants, and plan. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the budget vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether saving money is always important. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple piggy bank and coin drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one saving goal they have on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
