Trailblazers in Business word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Trailblazers in Business word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

Trailblazers in Business word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this trailblazers in business puzzle set for my 4th graders during our biography and social studies unit. The kids could name a few famous businesspeople, but they had no idea that entrepreneurs come from all over the world and that you don't have to be born in the U.S. to start a global company . So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using names like Hamdi Ulukaya (Chobani), Daniel Lubetzky (KIND Snacks), Luis von Ahn (Duolingo), Max Levchin (PayPal), and Mike Krieger (Instagram) . I also included key terms like entrepreneur, innovation, founder, capital, risk, and start-up . Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or independent practice. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "entrepreneur" or whether Duolingo is a business or a school . The crossword I use for partners or as a review after we've read short biographies of business trailblazers . I added a couple simple lightbulb, dollar sign, and globe drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one entrepreneur from the puzzles and write one fact about what business they started on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Kindergarten Pets and Animals word search, scramble and crossword puzz

Kindergarten Pets and Animals word search, scramble and crossword puzz
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

Kindergarten Pets and Animals word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this pets and animals puzzle set for my Kindergarteners during our "All About Me" unit and our first science unit on living things. The kids loved sharing about their own animals, but they kept mixing up words like "hamster" and "gerbil" and had trouble naming common farm animals . So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like dog, cat, bird, fish, hamster, rabbit, turtle, snake, horse, cow, pig, and sheep . I also included a few like "guinea pig" because several kids in my class had them and kept asking if they were the same as a hamster . Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "hamster" or whether a rabbit and a bunny are the same thing (they are, but the kids always have opinions about it). The crossword I use for partners or as a review, and I usually have a set of animal pictures nearby for the kids who need visual support. I added a couple simple dog, cat, and fish drawings but nothing too busy. Works for Pre-K through 1st grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw their favorite pet on the back and label it with a word from the puzzle. The kids actually ask for these now.

Space Rocks Asteroids and Comets word search, scramble and crossword p
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

Space Rocks Asteroids and Comets word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this space rocks puzzle set for my 4th graders during our space unit. The kids could name a few things like the sun and planets, but they had no idea what words like asteroid, comet, or meteor meant, or the difference between them. They kept mixing up which one burned up in the atmosphere and which one had a tail. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like asteroid, comet, meteor, meteoroid, meteorite, tail, nucleus, orbit, crater, sun, gravity, impact, debris, and rock. I also added a few like "Chelyabinsk" and "Jupiter" because they came up in our conversations about famous impacts. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess, and the scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "meteorite" or whether a comet and a meteor are the same thing (they're not—comets are icy bodies that form tails, meteors burn up in the atmosphere). The crossword I use for partners or as a review, and I usually have a diagram of a comet and a labeled meteoroid/meteor/meteorite flow chart nearby for the kids who need the visual support to see the differences. I added a couple simple asteroid, comet, and meteor drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 6th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw a comet and label its parts on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

National Heroes Day word Scramble puzzle worksheet

National Heroes Day word Scramble puzzle worksheet
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

National Heroes Day word Scramble puzzle worksheet activity National Heroes Day Word Scramble Worksheet I made this word scramble for my 5th grade social studies class when we were learning about local heroes. It's a simple 2-page printable with 24 scrambled names and terms related to national heroes - from easier words like "brave" and "honor" to more challenging ones like "legacy" and "sacrifice." Last year, my students worked on this while we prepared for our Heroes Day assembly. They enjoyed racing to unscramble words like "freedom" and "courage" before our guest speaker arrived. The activity sparked great discussions about what makes someone a hero in our community. You'll get: • Page 1: The scramble sheet with clear spaces for answers • Page 2: A no-fuss answer key I use this when: Introducing our Heroes Day unit Needing a quick but meaningful activity Preparing for memorial events The words reflect real conversations we have in class - not just famous names, but qualities like "service" and "justice" too. When we did this last August, my class got really thoughtful about the word "compassion" after solving it. Format: Basic PDF (2 pages) Teacher Tip: Have students underline one word they think describes our local heroes best!

Human Rights Leaders word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this human rights leaders puzzle set for my 4th graders during our social studies and biography unit. The kids could name Martin Luther King Jr. and maybe Nelson Mandela, but they had no idea about the incredible diversity of human rights leaders who have stood up for justice, from different countries, backgrounds, and time periods. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using names like Martin Luther King Jr. , Nelson Mandela , Malala Yousafzai , Desmond Tutu , Mahatma Gandhi , Sima Samar , and Eleanor Roosevelt . I also included key human rights terms like equality , justice , freedom , dignity , nonviolent , activist , solidarity , and universal because they show up in every conversation about rights. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or independent practice. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about how to spell "Yousafzai" or whether Gandhi was from India or South Africa (he was from India, but his activism started in South Africa). The crossword I use for partners or as a review after we've watched short biographies or read picture books about these leaders. I added a couple simple dove, fist, and globe drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one leader from the puzzles and write one fact about them on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

The Pumpkin Who Wanted to Be a Pie Reading Passage - Halloween Reading

The Pumpkin Who Wanted to Be a Pie Reading Passage - Halloween Reading
ELA, Reading, Writing, Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Halloween, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets

Say hello to The Pumpkin Who Wanted to Be a Pie! In this hilarious and heartwarming reading passage, students will meet a pumpkin with one dream, to become the best pie anyone’s ever tasted. While his pumpkin pals are busy trying to be the biggest, roundest, and most perfect for decoration, this plucky pumpkin is focused on flavor. But the journey to pie-dom isn’t all sweet; he’ll have to roll through a few challenges, like avoiding squirrels and figuring out what “nutmeg” is. Will he make it to the pie plate, or will he end up as a jack-o'-lantern? But that’s not all! After enjoying the pumpkin’s tale, students will dive into four activities that are more fun than a pie-eating contest. First, the Vocabulary activity teaches words like “crust” and “spice”, because every pie needs the right seasoning. Next, the Grammar activity will whip those sentences into shape, no recipe required! In the Drawing activity , students can create their own pie-worthy pumpkin. Will it have a chef’s hat or maybe a little cinnamon swirl? Finally, the Comprehension Questions will make sure they’ve followed every slice of the story. With The Pumpkin Who Wanted to Be a Pie, students will learn that following your dreams, no matter how “slice” it gets, is always worth it! Enjoy!
