About this resource
What's inside this resource
In this Cut, Sort & Glue activity, students will look at pictures of students respecting personal space as well as not respecting personal space. They will glue the pictures of kids respecting personal space onto the alien/ufo space image and the others on the "no alien" image. This is a great extension activity following my Personal Space Voyage Boom Cards found at: https://teachsimple.com/product/personal-space-voyage-boom-cards-with-audio

Teaching tips & learning objectives
Learning objectives
Sort depicted behaviors into 'respecting personal space' and 'not respecting personal space' categories
Distinguish appropriate from inappropriate personal-space behavior using picture cues rather than text
Teaching tips
Pre-cut the picture squares for younger students who are still building scissor control, so the lesson stays focused on sorting rather than cutting
Have students explain aloud why each picture belongs in its column before gluing, to reinforce the reasoning behind the sort
Use the sheet as a follow-up to a personal-space read-aloud or discussion rather than as a stand-alone introduction to the concept
Skills covered
Behavior categorization — students sort picture cards into two labeled columns based on whether the depicted behavior respects personal space.
Fine-motor cutting and gluing — students cut apart picture squares and adhere them into the correct column.
