This is an interactive activity that will get students moving as they apply math skills. You will prepare signs and task cards included and place them around your classroom. There are 10 shopping lists to distribute, so only a couple of students are working on the same list. Students will shop around the classroom and make note of the prices of items on their shopping list. Then students will collect their workspace mat and begin computations to get their total. If you want to give students extra practice with place value, I have just the resource for you. What You Get: This is a set of Place Value Loop Cards that was designed for 4th and 5th grade students who are working on or have mastered place value with higher digit numbers. It may be a great fit for 3rd grade students. It also works well as a review for students. It is a 1-page printable. How To Implement This Resource: This is a game that is meant to be played as a whole group. Whenever you are able to carve out some time during your math instruction, students will love getting a chance to play this game. The game will flow much smoother for a group of students who have a good understanding of place value. These Loop Cards mimic the game I Have, Who Has? You will print off the entire page and should laminate it for durability. Cut out each of the cards. There are 24 cards included. All cards have to be used for the game to work. If you have a classroom of 24 students, there will be an even distribution. If you have less than 24 students, you can take the extra cards and join in on the game or you can give more than 1 card to your students who have fully mastered this skill. Whoever has the START card will begin the game. Students will continue with the cards by saying the number they have and asking the question on their card to find the next number. This game will continue until they have reached the person with the END card. You can store cards in a small plastic baggie or hole punch them and place them on a binder ring. I hope you enjoy! Need a fun, engaging activity for practicing skip counting by 2 with your kiddos? This math bingo game is perfect for getting your students focused on skip counting in 2s! Preparation: Print and laminate enough Bingo Boards for each student to have one Optional: print, cut and laminate the Playing Squares Print, cut and laminate the Calling Cards. Lamination is optional, but recommended, as it will ensure that the game remains in good condition and can be used for many years to come! To avoid excessive printing and laminating, the Playing Squares could be replaced with other manipulatives such as buttons or counters. Alternatively, students could mark squares off on their Bingo Boards with dry erase markers and then simply clean the boards again after playing (provided that you have laminated the boards) How to Play: Each student needs a Bingo Board and at least 7 Playing Squares (or other manipulatives or a dry erase marker) Shuffle the Calling Cards and place them in a pile. Draw a Calling Card and call out and/or display the contents of the card. Each student looks on their Bingo Board for a block that matches the Calling Card. If they find one, they cover that block with a Playing Square. Draw a new Calling Card and repeat the process. The game continues until somebody wins. To win, a student must shout out “BINGO!” when they have covered three blocks in a row (horizontally, vertically or diagonally). If the Calling Cards run out before anybody wins, simply shuffle them again and continue playing. Please note: Sometimes there may be more than one block on the Bingo Board that matches the Calling Card. The student may only cover one block on a turn. Once that turn is over, the Playing Square may not be moved to cover a different block. This resource includes 5 different bingo board, in colour as well as black and white. Skip Counting by 9s Bingo - Boards 11-15 This exciting game offers an interactive approach to learning numbers through skip counting in nines. Designed for Grade 1 through Grade 3 students, it combines different elementary math concepts like patterns and early math, ensuring a comprehensive learning journey. Preparing the Game To prepare the game is simple; print out enough bingo boards for all your students. Optional items such as playing squares and Calling Cards, when printed and laminated can further enrich the gaming experience. A sustainable alternative to excessive printing or laminating could be to replace playing squares with small items like buttons or counters. The boards can also be marked off with dry erase markers if you laminate them beforehand. The Gameplay A student needs their own bingo board along with minimum seven of some manipulative elements or any dry erase marker. The teacher shuffles the Calling Cards and makes a stack to draw a card one by one while announcing what's on it. The students identify matching blocks on their bingo boards covering them until they get three in line (vertical, horizontal, or diagonal) – earning them victory! The package provided includes five different colored as well as black-and-white variations of these bingo boards providing variety in the game according to different preferences during playtime. Note:In certain situations, more than one block may correspond to the called card but only one block per turn can be covered making strategic placement important! Also once placed down nimble fingers cannot shift their used elements meaning choices must be thought out carefully before placement!. Need a fun, engaging activity for practicing skip counting by 2 with your kiddos? This math bingo game is perfect for getting your students focused on skip counting in 2s! Preparation: Print and laminate enough Bingo Boards for each student to have one Optional: print, cut and laminate the Playing Squares Print, cut and laminate the Calling Cards. Lamination is optional, but recommended, as it will ensure that the game remains in good condition and can be used for many years to come! To avoid excessive printing and laminating, the Playing Squares could be replaced with other manipulatives such as buttons or counters. Alternatively, students could mark squares off on their Bingo Boards with dry erase markers and then simply clean the boards again after playing (provided that you have laminated the boards) How to Play: Each student needs a Bingo Board and at least 7 Playing Squares (or other manipulatives or a dry erase marker) Shuffle the Calling Cards and place them in a pile. Draw a Calling Card and call out and/or display the contents of the card. Each student looks on their Bingo Board for a block that matches the Calling Card. If they find one, they cover that block with a Playing Square. Draw a new Calling Card and repeat the process. The game continues until somebody wins. To win, a student must shout out “BINGO!” when they have covered three blocks in a row (horizontally, vertically or diagonally). If the Calling Cards run out before anybody wins, simply shuffle them again and continue playing. Please note: Sometimes there may be more than one block on the Bingo Board that matches the Calling Card. The student may only cover one block on a turn. Once that turn is over, the Playing Square may not be moved to cover a different block. This resource includes 5 different bingo board, in colour as well as black and white.
