Skip Counting by 2s 5s 10s word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this skip counting puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our math unit. The kids could count by ones but had no idea what skip counting meant or how to count by twos, fives, or tens. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using skip counting sequences like 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20 (twos) and 5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50 (fives) and 10,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90,100 (tens). Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the skip counting patterns finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about what number comes after 18 when counting by twos. The crossword I use for partners with number clues. I added a couple simple frog hopping and number line drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 1st through 3rd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write the next three numbers when skip counting by 5s starting at 15 on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Navidad, Año Nuevo, Cinco de Mayo, Día de los Muertos, Semana Santa, fiesta, celebración, desfile, fuegos artificiales, and tradición. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the holiday vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether Día de los Muertos is sad or joyful. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple piñata, candle, and flag drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Crosswords about opposites in English! Ten different crossword puzzles to practice spelling. These crossword puzzle are for students that are learning spelling. In these crosswords, you have a numbered list of words at the bottom of each page. Students have to name the opposite of each word into the corresponding horizontal line of the crossword. The lines are connected so when the crossword is filled correctly, a hidden message will appear in the emphasized vertical row. The benefit of this kind of crossword puzzle is that once students understand the simple concept, they are able to proceed themselves regardless of their level. The answer of the crosswords are included, but students are able to tell themselves whether they are right or not. If the hidden sentence is meaningful they are most likely to have done it right. If it doesn’t make sense, they will realize that; and then they can co-operate with their classmates to find the right solution. In other words, this worksheet is self-checking. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using everyday signs like hello, goodbye, thank you, please, yes, no, help, stop, water, bathroom, and friend . I also included school-related signs like teacher, student, book, and learn because we use them all day long . Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the basic ASL vocabulary finally stick. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether the sign for "please" is the same as the sign for "thank you."
