Grocery Store Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Grocery Store Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this grocery store vocabulary puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our community unit. The kids loved going to the store but had no idea what words like aisle, cart, or cashier meant when we talked about where we buy food. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like grocery store, aisle, cart, basket, shelf, food, produce, dairy, meat, bread, can, box, bag, checkout, cashier, money, and list. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the grocery vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a cart is better than a basket. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple cart, apple, and shopping bag drawings but nothing too busy. Works for K through 2nd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write a grocery list on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Spring Equivalent Fractions Matching Game Activity - Printable
Holiday & Seasonal, Seasons, Spring, Math, Fractions, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
Need a Spring activity for practicing equivalent fractions with your kiddos that will be fun and engaging? This math memory matching game is perfect for getting your students focused on equivalent fractions! I have included cards with fractions represented in different ways. You can use them in any combination you wish - whether by printing 2 sets of the same version, or different versions that you mix and match. The choice is up to you, so you can cater to the specific needs and level of your students! You can also adjust the difficulty level by using more or less cards at a time! Preparation: There are 3 versions of the cards to choose from: Fraction circles Fraction circles with symbols Fraction symbols Choose the cards you wish to use and print them. Print the card backs on the back of the cards. Cut the cards out and laminate (optional, but recommended so that the game will last) Black and White Printing options are also included Please note: Unlike in the digital version of this game , there are multiple options for some of the equivalent fractions (for example, there are 6 different cards that all equal 1/2). This is intentional, so that students can practice equivalent fractions with a variety of options, and not always the same fractions. You can choose if you wish to only use 1 pair of cards for each basic fraction at a time, or more than 1 pair. If you choose to use more than 1 pair, be sure to select an even number of cards for each basic fraction so that all cards will have a matching partner. This will also mean that there will be more than 1 possible matching card when students are playing the game . For instance, if a student were to turn over 1/2 and 2/4, it would be a match. But if the student were to turn over 2/4 and 3/6 instead, it would also be a match. Adjusting the level: Select and use a smaller number of cards to make the activity easier. Ensure that the cards you select are matching pairs. How To Use This Activity: This game can be used with 1 or more players. 1 Player: Shuffle cards and place them face down in a grid formation, Turn 2 cards over and see if they match. If the cards match, you get to remove them and put them to the side. If the cards do not match, turn them back over. Now turn over 2 new cards and repeat the process. See how quickly you can find all the pairs of matching cards! 2 Player (or more players if desired): Shuffle cards and place them face down in a grid formation, Player 1 turns over 2 cards and sees if they match. If the cards match, Player 1 removes them and keeps them. Then Player 1 gets to go again! If the cards do not match, Player 1 turns them back over and it is Player 2’s turn, etc. Each time a player gets a match, they get to keep the cards and go again. If they do not get a match, they turn the cards back over and it is the next player’s turn. Continue playing until all the cards are finished. The player with the most cards at the end of the game is the winner! Your kiddos will love practicing equivalent fractions with this fun spring themed matching game ! Mushrooms and Fungi word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
Mushrooms and Fungi word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this mushrooms and fungi puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our science unit on living things. The kids were fascinated by the mushrooms they saw in the woods but thought they were plants. They had no idea what words like spore , mycelium , or fungus meant, and they kept asking questions like "Can you eat all mushrooms?" So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like mushroom, fungus, mycelium, spore, cap, stem, gills, underground, forest, wood, and decomposer. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of mycelium (it's a tricky one) or whether mushrooms and fungi are the same thing (they are—mushrooms are the fruiting body of a fungus). The crossword I use for partners, and I usually have a diagram of a mushroom labeled with its parts nearby for the kids who need the visual support. I added a couple simple mushroom and forest drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw a mushroom and label its parts on the back, or write one way fungi help the forest. The kids actually ask for these now.
