CK Consonant Digraphs Phonics Worksheets
Phonics, Language Development, ELA, Spelling, Special Education Needs (SEN), Special Resources, Kindergarten, Grade 1, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
5 FREE CK Phonics Worksheets Teaching phonics effectively doesn't have to mean hours of preparation. These ready-to-use worksheets have been designed with busy parents and teachers in mind — clear, simple, and straightforward to pick up and use. This free sample pack contains five worksheets focusing on a single phonics sound. Each worksheet has been carefully structured to build confidence and reinforce learning through a mix of activities, including word recognition, spelling practice and simple reading comprehension. The clean, uncluttered layout means children can focus on the sound rather than the page — and the black and white format keeps printing costs to a minimum. Suitable for: home school tutors SEN teachers ESL teachers Working at grades: Kindergarten Reception Year 1 These worksheets sit alongside any phonics programme you are already using. Whether you are following a school scheme, home educating, or supporting a child with additional learning needs, they slot in easily without disrupting your existing approach. Each activity has been trialled with real children in real teaching sessions. The progression within each pack is deliberate — building from phonemic awareness, through to recognition, through to application, giving children the practice they need to truly secure each sound before moving on. If you find these samples useful, the complete sound packs are available here. Each full pack covers the same sound in greater depth, with a more comprehensive range of activities, a video lesson and the accompanying reading book — everything you need to teach, practise and consolidate in one place. If your child's current phonics programme is not having the desired results, Reading Made Simple can help. It is borne out of my work with pupils with severe difficulties and none, and has proved effective in every case. It is a living programme, written on the chalk face, not in a university. New sounds are added regularly as the programme grows. S uitable for Reception and Year 1. Compatible with all systematic phonics programmes.

5 FREE Initial Sounds Worksheets: b
Language Development, ELA, Phonics, Kindergarten, Preschool, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
5 Initial Sounds Worksheets: b A pack of 5 worksheets to help children learn to recognise the letter 'b' by both its shape and its sound, while also building correct letter formation from the very start. Each worksheet approaches the sound from a slightly different angle, so the child gets plenty of repetition without it ever feeling repetitive. Worksheet 1 asks the child to read a row of letters, tracing each one and saying the sound aloud, before naming a set of pictures and writing the initial sound underneath each - bringing sound, shape and word together in one simple task. Worksheet 2 has the child trace a large, chunky version of the letter, then hunt through a group of jumbled letters to find every occurrence of the target letter, tracing and saying the sound each time they spot one - a lovely way to sharpen visual discrimination alongside letter recognition. Worksheets 3 to 5 build on this foundation with a variety of engaging activities - among them, listening for the target sound among a set of pictures and colouring only those that begin with it, matching the letter to pictures that share its sound, and a hands-on cut-and-stick activity where the child finds, names and sticks down the pictures that begin with the sound, saying it aloud as they go. Throughout the pack, correct pencil hold and letter formation are encouraged, with directional arrows and starting dots to guide the child. What is included: 1 PDF containing 5 worksheets. Printing and paper Print on A4 paper, or reduce to A5 if preferred. More This pack is one of a full set covering every initial sound, so you can build up your own complete collection one sound at a time, or move steadily through the alphabet alongside your phonics teaching. ING Suffix: Phonics Workbook Reading Made Simple
Phonics, Language Development, ELA, Spelling, Kindergarten, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
Reading Made Simple — Free ING suffix Phonics Workbook These little workbooks have been a quiet favourite with families using Reading Made Simple for some time now. Each one focuses on a single sound and prints on just one sheet of A4 paper — double-sided, folded in half to make a neat A5 booklet that children can hold and work through at their own pace. They are entirely optional. The phonics programme works perfectly well without them, but many parents and teachers find them a useful companion — either as structured practice or simply as a source of ideas to dip into when needed. Tested by real children: One 5-year-old user is quoted as having said, 'The worksheet is the best bit of my lessons!' Other parents have noted that their child likes the worksheet because 'they think it is easy'. When learning is broken down into small, achievable steps, with no curve balls to throw them off track, every child can say, 'I can read!' When I hear these reviews, I know that I have succeeded in my aim to write a phonics curriculum that can help children of all abilities learn to read and spell. These little workbooks are just one small part of what there is to offer. Please do check out the website for more information. Each workbook offers a gentle mix of activities built around the target sound. Children will read short passages that practise the new sound alongside words from sounds already taught, track and identify the sound within words to support both reading and spelling, practise spelling and sentence writing, and work through simple editing exercises where they spot and correct mistakes. These small editing tasks are particularly worthwhile — they encourage children to look carefully at words rather than guessing from context. The workbooks are particularly well-suited to younger children just beginning their phonics journey, and to older children with special educational needs who are still building their foundational reading and spelling skills. That said, they will not suit every child. Some will find them too long, others too straightforward. Use your own judgement — pick the activities that fit, leave the rest, or set them aside entirely. There is no obligation and no right or wrong way to use them. To print: print double-sided, flipping on the short edge. Fold in half to create your A5 booklet. The answer page at the back is optional. One sheet of paper. One sound. Everything a child needs to practise, consolidate and grow in confidence.
