Animal Habitats Sort

Allow students to sort animals by which habitat they live in. What is Included: There are sorting card headers for each habitat. There are sorting mats for each habitat. There are three to six picture cards for each of the sets of sorting activities. The animal habitats included in this set include: Antarctic, Arctic, Beach, Desert, Forest, Grassland, Ocean, Pond, Rain Forest, and Swamp Each sorting mat includes a real life example of an animal that belongs in that particular habitat. All of the picture cards also include real photographs of each habitat. What Questions are Asked: To use these, students will lay out either the header cards or the sorting mats. They will then sort the animal images beneath or on top of the correct sorting mat. When to Use: Science Center - The sorting mats can be placed in a science center for students to learn about living things and where they live. Morning Work - These animal sorts can allow teachers to create quick and easy morning activities for students while they wait on their classmates to arrive to class. Independent Practice - These animal sorts are great for students to independently work on living things. Emergency Sub Plans - The low prep nature and easy to set up activity , makes these worksheets a great activity to leave with subs to assign to students. Small Group Activity - These animal sorts can be used in small groups so teachers can target the students who need extra practice with living things. Writing Review Activity - These animal sorts work well as a review to reinforce student's learning of living things. These sorting activities are easy to create. The mats just need to be printed out. The picture cards need to be printed and cut apart. Once made, the sort can be used over and over.

I have included many real world examples such as planning a road trip, calculating unit prices at the store, and creating a visual design. I created this water cycle science activity for young students who are beginning to learn how water moves through Earth’s systems. Each page focuses on a simple part of the water cycle, including evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection. The worksheets include clear diagrams, short explanations, and guided activities so students can understand the concept without feeling overwhelmed. This type of activity works well during science lessons, especially when students are being introduced to Earth science topics. It can be used as a whole-class activity, a science center, morning work, or extra practice after a lesson. I’ve used similar worksheets before, and students enjoy labeling diagrams and following the steps of the water cycle from start to finish. The pack is easy to print and works well in both color and black-and-white. It fits nicely into classroom routines and can also be used at home for review or reinforcement. This is a set of ten lessons for struggling readers to help them develop reading fluency. The lessons cover short vowel words with and without a consonant blend. It includes 10 lessons, 10 decodable Reading Books, 10 matching PowerPoint presentations of the books + 10 packs of worksheets - a pack to support each book. This 10-week curriculum focuses on short vowel sounds and is designed for struggling readers. It includes 10 decodable reading books, each with only 10 new words per book to prevent cognitive overload. This pack is designed for children who have already learned to blend words with a short vowel sound, with both three and four sounds, but have not yet attained reading fluency. We study the ten words in each vowel sound, five each week, and then practice by using the activity pack. The child becomes very familiar with these five words. The child can then be given the next reading book and, to his/her great surprise, can read the book quite fluently without having to decode nearly every word. This gives the child an enormous boost. The process seems, in my experience, to help the child learn what is needed, once they can sound out words _ it helps them to learn how to store the words in the long-term memory, and I find it gets easier and easier as we go through the programme. The worksheets provide multi-sensory activities to help the child develop: Flashcards of the relevant words for each sound Phonemic awareness Strengthen consonant blends, which these children often find hard Tracking skills, which are again poor for many of these children Word differentiation - we tackle confusion words head-on (e.g. big/pig) Comprehension - as reading becomes more fluent, we can now build comprehension Fun print and go games And much, much more! The systematic, repetitive nature of this program makes it suitable for students with special needs, including those with dyslexia, cerebral palsy, or general learning disabilities. Ideal for small groups or one-on-one instruction, it helps develop reading fluency, phonetic awareness, and early writing skills. As it can become quite mundane doing the same activities over and over, each lesson in a set will contain a different spelling and vocab activity . Writing Prompts Writing prompts are designed to continue the theme or lessons learned in the story. Students are persuaded to write in a variety of ways and each prompt includes several cues to help. As with the spelling/vocab section, writing prompts will vary. This includes research pieces, reading responses, poetry and creative writing prompts. Full Answer Keys Full answer keys and sample responses are provided so no matter how busy you are, you know you're covered! SEL Boom Deck-What Can I Control and Not Control? Audio and Handout!

In this SEL Boom Deck, students will learn about things they can and cannot control. This is an important skill in self-regulation, relationship skills, and self-awareness. There is audio for each card so reading is not required. There are 46 Boom cards and 43 are task cards. The first 3 cards go over the concepts and the directions. Some of the in control examples are; a child is bored in class, a child make a choice that got them late for school, a child raised his hand to ask for help, a child studied for a test and did well on it, a child took something after someone dared them too, and many more. Some examples for the out of control concept are; a child's balloon was popped from a tree branch, there was a thunder storm, a family is moving, a child is walking in the rain, a child got a toy grabbed by another class member, a child is stuck in traffic and worried they will be late, a child did not get the lead role in a play, and more. After students participate in the Boom deck, they can write and draw their own examples of things they can and cannot control. There is a also a cute airplane that students can color and draw themselves being the pilot of their own plane (and mood, actions, feelings, etc.) This Boom deck can be something students do whole group (there enough cards for each student to do an example) or in centers , or you could assign this individually for homework. If there is an example of someone caught in a situation that causes them to feel upset regardless of whether they can or cannot control it, students are prompted by another card to help the person in the example feel better and do some things that they can control to help themselves. In this SEL product, you will get SEL Flashcards for Social Emotional Learning. You will also get SEL coloring pages because there are two different pages of emotions/feelings. Both pages have a black and white version and a color version. The black and white version allows your students to color their own faces and images. The emotions listed are; happy, sad, silly, proud, shy confused, scared, excited, angry, tired, loving, sick, disgusted, cry, jealous, disappointed. These flashcards can be used for so many purposes. I have used these flashcards for Go Fish games where the students have to ask for a certain feeling. You will need to make two copies of the colored emotions poster to make this game work. If a student asks for "angry" and the student they asked has it, that student give the card to the one who asked and that student places the match down on the table and names a time they felt angry. I have also used this resource for memory games. You would, again, make two copies of each emotion. Then you would mix up the cards and place them face down (I would highly recommend cardstock) in a random order. Students then would choose two cards and reveal the emotion cards. If they are a match, then the student can share when they have felt that way. If it is not a match, they would place the cards face down again the the next student would take a turn. This is a fun and interactive game but also helps students discuss their feelings in a non-threatening way. This resource can be used as a whole class activity where students color their flashcards and then cut them out. They can randomly pick a card and name a time they felt that way. This can also be used as a center activity for Go Fish or Memory (as I described above). The ways to use these Emotion SEL Flashcards are endless!
