Factoring Trinomials When A>1 Color by Numbers Worksheet
Math, Algebra, Grade 8, 9, 10, Activities, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
Factoring Trinomials When A is Greater Than 1 Color by Numbers allows students to practice an essential algebra skill - factoring trinomials - in an engaging way. With twelve trinomial factoring problems that each connect to a section of a color by number image, students factor trinomial expressions and identify the corresponding color to shade. This creates a final picture that serves as an answer key. As students factor trinomials such as 3x^2+17x+10, they must strategize to find factors for the x^2 term coefficient and x term coefficient that multiply to equal the constant. This builds critical thinking skills. The worksheet is ideal for grade 8-10 math or algebra classes and developing algebraic factoring abilities. Students stay focused, think critically about factoring, and end up with beautiful color by number art - making learning enjoyable.

Sharecropping Activity – Post-Civil War US History
Social Studies, History, History: USA, Grade 9, 10, 11, 12, Activities
Sharecropping is an agricultural system that emerged after the American Civil War in the late 19th century. It was prevalent in the southern United States, particularly in the rural areas where the plantation system had previously dominated. Under sharecropping, landowners would allow farmers, typically former slaves or poor white farmers, to work their land in exchange for a share of the crops produced. The landowner would provide the necessary land, seeds, tools, and sometimes even housing for the sharecroppers. At the end of the harvest, the crops would be divided between the landowner and the sharecropper, with the sharecropper receiving a portion, usually around half, of the crop. Sharecropping was essentially a form of agricultural labor contract. However, it often led to a cycle of poverty and debt for sharecroppers. Since they did not own the land they cultivated, they had limited control over their own economic destiny. They often had to borrow money or supplies from the landowner, creating a system of indebtedness that was difficult to escape. Furthermore, the sharecroppers had little say in the choice of crops or the marketing of their harvest. Landowners would often dictate the type of crops to be grown, which were usually cash crops such as cotton or tobacco. The sharecroppers' lack of control over their economic circumstances and the volatile nature of agricultural markets made it challenging for them to break free from poverty. This historical simulation provides students with a deep understanding behind the system of sharecropping. The main idea behind this simulation is to show students how skewed the relationship between the sharecropper and landowner was after the Civil War. Students will gain an insight into the way sharecroppers paid for debts, and how many of them were forced to work in order to pay off those debts

P.E. & Health, ELA, Health, Grade 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Activities
This 24-question movie guide will help your students get the most out of this powerful movie. This movie guide comes with an answer key. Ready to print and ready to use! Enjoy! Movie overview: "Set in Alexandria, Virginia, in 1971, the fact-based story begins with the integration of black and white students at T. C. Williams High School. This effort to improve race relations is most keenly felt on the school's football team, the Titans, and bigoted tempers flare when a black head coach (Washington) is appointed and his victorious predecessor (Will Patton) reluctantly stays on as his assistant. It's affirmative action at its most potentially volatile, complicated by the mandate that the coach will be fired if he loses a single game in the Titans' 13-game season. The players represent a hotbed of racial tension, but as the team struggles toward unity and gridiron glory, Remember the Titans builds on several subplots and character dynamics to become an inspirational drama of Rocky-like proportions." - Amazon For higher grade levels, you might be interested in this product: George Wallace Segregation Forever Speech Topics explored in this movie: Jim Crow Laws, segregation, racism, Brown v. The game package includes 36 unique 4x4 bingo cards featuring essential terms and concepts from Element Names and Symbols, a set of call-out cards with clear and concise definitions tailored to the students' level, and detailed gameplay instructions. To play, simply distribute the bingo cards to your students along with markers or chips. Read out the definitions from the call-out cards in a random order, and have students place a marker on the corresponding term on their card. The first student to complete a row or column exclaims "Bingo!" and emerges victorious. Following the game, engage in a discussion of the terms to reinforce understanding and clarify any misconceptions. The beauty of this game is that it allows for multiple rounds of learning and review. Here is a sample from the instructions. BINGO – Instructions, Terms, and Descriptions Cut out and distribute the BINGO cards to your students. Each student will get a unique card. Students can use markers or chips to cover squares that have been called. Print out and cut out each term/description below – these are the call-out cards. Fold each call-out card and place in a hat or box and remove one at a time. After you’ve read the call-out card description, your students are to place a marker on the term associated with the description located on their card. The first student to get 4 in a row horizontally or vertically, wins. Ensure accuracy by checking marked terms on student card to the called-out descriptions.
