Need a fun, engaging activity for practicing skip counting by 3 with your kiddos? This math bingo game is perfect for getting your students focused on skip counting in 3s! Preparation: Print and laminate enough Bingo Boards for each student to have one Optional: print, cut and laminate the Playing Squares Print, cut and laminate the Calling Cards. Lamination is optional, but recommended, as it will ensure that the game remains in good condition and can be used for many years to come! To avoid excessive printing and laminating, the Playing Squares could be replaced with other manipulatives such as buttons or counters. Alternatively, students could mark squares off on their Bingo Boards with dry erase markers and then simply clean the boards again after playing (provided that you have laminated the boards) How to Play: Each student needs a Bingo Board and at least 7 Playing Squares (or other manipulatives or a dry erase marker) Shuffle the Calling Cards and place them in a pile. Draw a Calling Card and call out and/or display the contents of the card. Each student looks on their Bingo Board for a block that matches the Calling Card. If they find one, they cover that block with a Playing Square. Draw a new Calling Card and repeat the process. The game continues until somebody wins. To win, a student must shout out “BINGO!” when they have covered three blocks in a row (horizontally, vertically or diagonally). If the Calling Cards run out before anybody wins, simply shuffle them again and continue playing. Please note: Sometimes there may be more than one block on the Bingo Board that matches the Calling Card. The student may only cover one block on a turn. Once that turn is over, the Playing Square may not be moved to cover a different block. This resource includes 5 different bingo board, in colour as well as black and white. In the first game, one picture will slowly appear (20 seconds long). Press the cookie in the bottom-left to begin, press again to reveal the answer. Press the arrow in the bottom-right to change to the next page. There are 9 questions in total Second game is similar but there will be two pictures appearing at the same time. Press the donut in the bottom-left to begin. The pictures will appear on the clock, press the pink clock button next to the picture that corresponds to the word at the top. Wrong answer will buzz, correct answer will make a noise and both pictures will be fully revealed. Press arrow in the bottom-right to change page. 4 questions in total. Last game will review the words from the previous game. Word is at the top, four pictures below, choose the correct picture for the word. Incorrect answers will dim out, correct answer will flash. Again, arrow in the bottom-right for the next question. 8 questions in total. Playing the Game There are two rounds in this game, the arrow in the bottom right will navigate you through the powerpoint. Round 1 - 6 Stars 1 Question Static: A question will appear in the middle of the screen and there will be six stars containing words that surround it. Choose the correct word for each question. Correct answer will flash, incorrect will dim. (8 questions) Round 2 - 6 Stars 1 Question Moving: Similar concept to round 2 but this time after seeing the clue, the six stars will fly in and out across the screen one-by-one. Quickly click on the correct star. If you fail there is a chance to repeat the slide. There is a quick ready message before each question, this will move on automatically. (9 questions) About the Game You are looking at a game that requires multiple skills and will allow your student to practice reading long O phonics words. With up to six words on the screen at any time, there is ample opportunity to practice phonics with every member of the class. This underwater themed math board game is perfect for getting your students focused on multiplication facts for 6! Preparation: Game instructions and playing pieces Print the How to Play page. You have three printing options. - Colour – for if you printed either of the colour game boards - BW 1 – for if you printed the BW 1 game board - BW 2 – for if you printed the BW 2 game board Cut out and laminate the fish at the top of the page to use as playing pieces. If you are using the BW printed fish, you would need to colour them before laminating. Alternatively, you can simply use counters or buttons.
