It can be successfully used alongside our Leaf Sorting Activity. It can follow a walk where the fruits of different trees are collected along with their leaves, in autumn, and the children can use books or other sources to help them to identify the leaves and fruit - as such it can be a learning activity rather than a puzzle. Children can either draw lines from each fruit to ots tree and then its leaf, or the sections can but cut out and stuck onto another sheet (provided). There are two levels of difficulty, one activity with seven trees and one with four. Choose the one most suitable for each child. Who can use the Tree ID Puzzle? It can be used in the home, by teachers and in the home-school. It can be blown up large and completed together by a class/group. It can be made into a centre activity by cutting out the individual words and pictures and allowing children to put the ones that go together next to each other. I suggest laminating the pieces to make them more durable. Answers provided.

If you are looking for engaging math games for your middle school students to complete, I have just the resource for you. If your students are learning about or have mastered ratios, this is a Ratios Matching Game that they will enjoy. This activity is great for 6th – 8th grade students. The objective of the game is for students to select the correct explanation card that matches the ratio picture. For each ratio problem, there are 3 cards: 1. A picture of circles representing a ratio 2. A correct explanation for the picture 3. An incorrect explanation There are 5 problem sets per page with a total of 20 problem cards. Students can complete this activity independently if you wanted it to be an early finisher activity. It also works great for a partner activity or small group competition. Partners can work together to decide which is the correct answer. If you wanted to make it into a competition, there would need to be a game leader in charge of handling the cards and determining the correct answer. Whichever player chooses the correct answer first, gets to keep the card. Whoever has the most cards at the end of the game is the winner! I hope you enjoy! Each player should choose 1 mini-figure or Lego element to be their game piece Note: Players can use their piece in their creative build at the end of the game if they would like to! Directions: Players take turns rolling one die on their turn. They move the number of spaces represented on the die and follow instructions on the game square they land on. Based on where they land, they will either choose a set number of elements from the pile, return a set number of elements from their collection to the pile, or move backward a certain number of spaces. The game ends when one person reaches the finish. At that point, all players build creatively with the pieces they have collected during the game . Then, they share what they have built. If your science students have started or finished a space unit , I have just the game they’ll love. This is a Race to Space Board Game that can be implemented at any time. It is great for an introduction or a review. This is great for upper elementary students in 4th and 5th grade. Game Play Directions: --The goal of the game is to reach Saturn. --The first player rolls the die and moves however many spaces indicated on the die. --If you land on the nova card space, pick a card and answer the question. --The keeper of the answers will check the accuracy of the answer. --If the question is answered incorrectly, they will have to move back 2 spaces. --If they answer correctly, they get to stay where they are. --The first to Saturn wins! Teacher Instructions: --Cut out and laminate the game board and adventure/nova cards --Label the nova and adventure cards or print them on different color paper --Blank nova cards are provided if you want to write your own questions --You will need one die and game pieces for each player --You may want to assign one student to be the “keeper of the answers” or you can check the student’s answers yourself. --This game works best when played with 3-6 players.
