Grade 6 Transformations Review and Test
Translations, rotations, and reflections on the coordinate plane are the shared focus of both a test and a separate review, each asking students to perform a given transformation on a figure and to describe a shown transformation in words. The test mixes all three transformation types across five multi-part questions, including a cumulative coordinate-plane question where students apply a translation, then a rotation, then a reflection to the same shape in sequence, and a final question describing a trapezoid's three-step journey across a grid. The review breaks the same three transformation types into separate sections with more guided practice, and opens with a marking rubric that spells out the required elements of a correct description (for example, a rotation description must name "rotate," a distance/angle, a direction, and a point). Both the test and the review include a matching answer key showing completed transformations, coordinates, and sample descriptions.
