Let's Talk Feelings SEL Presentation

In this SEL presentation, you will get a 5 slide Google Slide Presentation. This was originally created for remote learning, however you can adapt this for in the classroom as well. On the second slide, there is a read aloud that I created for the book My Cold Plum Lemon Pie Bluesy Mood by Tameka Brown. This is a wonderful book about a boy with many different feelings, emotions, and moods throughout the book. On the 3rd slide, there is access to a digital spinner with many different feelings on it. Once you click on the spinner in presentation mode, it will create a new tab, scroll down for the large spinner with a variety of feelings on it. When you click on the spinner, it will move and make spinner sounds. You can choose a student to come to the board or your computer to click it to stop. When it stops there will be a feeling on the screen. You can have students turn and talk about when they have felt that way, you could have them talk in groups, you could do it whole classroom and students can raise their hand. Play as many rounds as you have time for. Next on slide 4 the students can do a feelings scavenger hunt where they find something in the classroom (or home if it remote) that reminds them of that feeling. There is animated picture of feelings that come up on the screen. This gets kids up and moving in the classroom and having fun. Finally, on the last slide you will have access to a homework sheet to pass out to students called Inside/Outside Feelings Scavenger Hunt. Students can take this home and fill it out. They will answer prompts for; That makes you feel silly?, What reminds you of a trip, etc. There are 12 prompts for them to answer.

Injury and Violence Prevention Health: 4th and 5th Grade Unit 5 For 4th and 5th Grade Health, there are seven standards that students will practice and learn. Through using this Injury and Violence Prevention Health: 4th and 5th Grade Unit 5 students will explore and learn to identify daily healthy habits. This is a wonderful unit to help students to stay safe and healthy. With this 4th and 5th Grade Health Unit 5: Injury / Violence Prevention, kids will learn to identify daily healthy habits along with how to treat minor cuts with basic first aid. Students will also learn how and when to call 911 and identify when there is an emergency to call. Furthermore, students will learn how to use the Heimlich maneuver. Other worksheets in this unit will teach students how to prevent common injuries at home, school, and in the community. In addition, there is an important paper on stranger danger and the tricks that strangers use on kids. Lastly, students will learn about bullying and how they can handle bullying situations along with how to deal with conflicts. This unit meets Common Core Standards. There are 16 pages included. Included in this Injury and Violence Prevention Health: 4th and 5th Grade Unit 5 Basic first aid will be taught for minor cuts. When and how to call 911 and know when it's an emergency. Here's a complete ready-to-go lesson for high school students in math class, life skills, home economics, or career and personal planning. It will teach them all about buying a home, getting a mortgage, and how mortgage payments are calculated using interest rates. 1) First, there is a handout explaining all the relevant home-buying vocabulary: from down payment and mortgage to interest and principal. There is a complete handout or a fill-in-the-blanks version: you choose what is best for your students! 2) Then, there is a second sheet with a sample scenario of what happens when interest rates rise and people have to renew their mortgage.
