Safety at Home word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Safety at Home word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this safety at home puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our health and safety unit. The kids knew not to touch a hot stove but had no idea about other dangers like cleaning supplies, sharp objects, or strangers at the door. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like stove, hot, fire, match, lighter, outlet, plug, cord, knife, scissors, cleaner, poison, medicine, lock, window, stairs, rail, call, 911, stranger, door, and helmet. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the home safety vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether you should answer the door for a stranger. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple house, smoke detector, and helmet drawings but nothing too busy. Works for K through 3rd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name two home safety rules on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Writing Process Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this writing process puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our writing workshop. The kids could write a story but had no idea what words like brainstorming, drafting, or revising meant when I asked them to move through the process. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like brainstorm, prewrite, draft, revise, edit, publish, share, idea, organize, sentence, paragraph, word choice, grammar, spelling, punctuation, peer edit, and final copy. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the writing process terms finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether revising and editing are the same thing. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple pencil and checklist drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name one thing they do during revising on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

National Haiku Poetry Day word Scramble puzzle worksheet activity National Haiku Poetry Day Word Scramble Worksheet I made this word scramble for my 3rd graders last April when we celebrated National Haiku Poetry Day. The activity includes: Common haiku words ("cherry," "moon," "frog") Poetry terms ("five," "seven," "rhythm") Japanese culture words ("haiku," "Basho") I remember my students laughing when they unscrambled "raindrop" right as it started raining outside our classroom window - it became instant inspiration for their poems! You'll get: • Page 1: The student worksheet with 24 scrambled words • Page 2: An answer key for easy checking I use this when: Introducing haiku poetry Needing a quick literacy center activity Celebrating Poetry Month in April The words range from easy ("sun") to challenging ("kigo") so all my students feel successful. Last year, we kept the scrambled words up on the board as a word bank while writing our haikus. Format: No-frills PDF (2 pages) Teacher Tip: Have students circle their favorite word to use in their first haiku!

Environmental Careers word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Not Grade Specific, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
Environmental Careers word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this environmental careers puzzle set for my 4th graders during our career exploration and Earth Day unit. The kids could name a few jobs like park ranger and recycling worker, but they had no idea what words like hydrologist, ecologist, or sustainability meant when we talked about careers that help protect the planet. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like ecologist, hydrologist, geologist, environmental engineer, conservation, wildlife, sustainability, climate, and policy . I also made sure to include "renewable energy," "resource management," and "climate scientist" because they came up in our conversations about green careers. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or independent practice. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "hydrologist" or whether an ecologist and a biologist are the same thing. The crossword I use for partners or as a review after we've watched short career videos. I added a couple simple leaf, wind turbine, and water drop drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 6th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one environmental career from the puzzles and write what they do on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Word search & scramble puzzle worksheet activities for kids 2nd and 3rd grades to 4th and 5th grades, also solution for the puzzles is included ⭐ This document contains a word search and a word scramble activity. The materials were created during an afternoon when student engagement was low. The objective was to provide an activity that resembled a game while also stimulating cognitive function. The puzzles proved effective in achieving this goal. The PDF document is four pages in length. It includes two puzzles for student use (a word search and a word scramble) and two answer keys. Visual elements are incorporated to enhance engagement without causing distraction. The graphics are designed to be appropriate for the target audience. ⭐ The students in the class find these items enjoyable. They work on them in groups during the morning session, or they are provided to students who complete their work early to occupy their time. The word search activity has also been utilized as a quiet activity following recess. The word scramble activity often initiates discussions, such as the correct form of the word "recycle." The preparation required is minimal. The materials are printed, distributed, and then the students begin the activity. Occasionally, students are instructed to highlight or circle their preferred word and use it in a sentence. This extends the activity beyond simple enjoyment and enhances its educational value.
