Playing the Game After the first page, there is a quick intro to the game. After this the first train sequence will begin. There will be some winter scene outside along with seven letter I words. This is automated and will move onto the question page automatically. On the question page you will have four options, choose the select button for the right answer. If you wish to watch the animation again, you can click the back button. After the correct answer has flashed, press next and the next train animation will start. Questions vary in difficulty so you may need to play the animation more than once. About the Game Bring some fun to your phonics review lessons with this letter I review game. Set inside a train, there are a mix of questions to practice 16 key words. One difference with this game is the question will come after the words have appeared so students have to pay attention to everything they see. Questions go from easy to difficult. Your kids will enjoy reviewing without knowing they even are! 11 rounds - short and long I Short I words: lip, bid, fin, dig, kid, hid, win, pin. Playing the Game After the titles and information about the game, the first game will begin. Students will be shown a close-up photo of an object and have to guess what it is. Press the = button for the answer and the original photo with word will appear. Press the arrow button to move onto the next question. 6 questions in total. Second game is a memory game. Starting with three pictures and ending up with six, students have ten seconds to observe the pictures on the screen, then need to say the words they remember. The picture page will automatically move on after ten seconds but if you wish to move on yourself quicker then there is an arrow button. In the answer screen, answers will flash if correct, dim if incorrect. Finally game is more like a question and answer, but in two parts. In the part, there will be a clue and 3-6 words to choose from. Press the correct answer. In the second section you will get the reverse, one word and then two to three clues to choose from. Choose the correct clue for the word. Includes arrows to move onto the next page. Beginning Sounds Matching Game

Students can practice recognizing the beginning sounds in words with this matching game. The bold, colorful, and easy to recognize images will assist students in completing this activity independently or with a partner. The colorful nature of this game will keep students engage as they match each picture to its beginning sound. What is Included There 136 different picture cards in two different formats, one with just the picture and one with the picture and the word with the beginning sound missing for students to fill in. capital and lowercase letter cards for students to match with each picture. How to Use: This set of cards can be used as a traditional matching game, where students work together or independently to match each picture to the beginning sound. This set can be used as a concentration game where students lay all the cards face down and they work to match the picture with its beginning sound or to match two cards with the same beginning sound. The picture cards with words can be laminated and students can use dry erase markers to write the beginning sound of each word on the blank line. Students can match the capital and lowercase letters. Where to Use: Literacy Centers - These beginning sound cards can be placed inside a literacy center for students to work alone or with a partner to complete. Morning Bins - These cards can be used as a morning activity for students to complete while waiting on classmates to arrive to class. Small Group Activity - Students who need extra help identifying sounds in words can be put in a small group to get further practice with this skill. Beginning and Final Blends Flashcards with pictures A set of beginning and final blends with both letters and matching pictures. This set covers the following beginning blends: sw, sk, st, sp, sl, sn, sm, bl, be, cl, cr, dr, fr, fl, gr, gl, pl, pr, tr, tw And the following final blends: ft, lk, nd , nt, mp, st, lt, sk, nk This set of consonant blends flashcards contains the blends a child will most likely need for their current reading/spelling level, if they are just learning to hear four sounds in a word with a short vowel sound. Once a child meets more advanced vocabulary, the child’s ability to decode will be such that they will no longer need consonant blends flashcards - the skill will be more or less automatic. A child does not need to know every consonant blend by heart. What is needed is the ability to hear the two sounds in a blend to spell and to blend two consonants to read. Phonemic awareness of the blends is a good place to start. How to use the Beginning and Final Blends Flashcards with pictures: ·If you print the letters and their matching pictures back to back, you will have a set of self-correcting cards with which a child can practice reading the consonant blends. ·If you print the letters and pictures separately, then you can let the child match letters to pictures, selecting just as many as the child can cope with, at a given time. For some children, learning the consonant blends is not an easy skill, so it may be advisable, once the child has an idea of what is needed, to move on to the next skill, as there will be plenty of opportunities to practice the blends as the child progresses through a phonic programme.

Read the word on the bone. If you get it right feed it to the dog. Woof! Woof! A fun game to reinforce reading. Introducing you to our brand new ‘Mission Spelling Zero’ scheme. Help your child/ren to take their first steps in reading, writing and spelling, with this exciting structured scheme. How to prepare Cut out the dog‘s head, body and tail. Glue the head and body together and attach to a box (shoebox). Stick the tail to the other end of the box, so it can be seen just above the box. How to play: Muddle up and divide the bones equally between the number of children playing. Each child takes a turn to read a word from their pile. If they read the word correctly, everyone shouts “WOOF! WOOF! WOOF!” and the child slots it through the dogs mouth. However, if they read the word incorrectly, everyone shouts “Grrrr....” and the word bone has to go to the bottom of the child’s pile. The first child to feed all their bones to the dog is the winner.

This unique set of 40 subitizing flashcards encourages your students to practice a vital mental math skill: subitizing, which is instantly recognizing how many there are in small groups of items and then using that knowledge for counting larger numbers! It’s a fun way to also practice early multiplication skills and learn math facts- by mentally counting equal groups in a visual display. There are two unique cards for each number value from 1-20: 40 cards in all! Ways to Use: 1) Traditional Flashcards: Hold up a flashcard and ask your student to let you know how many items there are using their mental counting skills. 2) Memory Game: Spread mixed-up pairs of cards facedown on the table (you could use from 5-20 pairs, based on your students’ ages and abilities). Students will take turns, flip two cards over, and look for pairs of cards that have the same value. They continue playing as you would a standard memory matching game. 3) Line Them Up: Have your students work individually or in pairs to line up one set of cards with values from 1-20. 4) One More, One Less: One student shows a single card. Their partner can search through the rest of the cards to find one that is worth one more and a card that is worth one less. 5) Explain Your Counting: Have your students use the included worksheet to explain how they mentally count the items on one of the cards.
