It will help your students practice adding and multiplying decimals while they shop to hit the target amount! Every round presents five food items to the students who practice estimating costs to manage a given budget. Ask one student to choose one item at a time. The student guesses the price and chooses how many they want to buy of it. Then you reveal the price, all of the students students calculate how much they have spent, and you move on to the next item! Grades to Use With: This is a fun math game for grades 4-7 when you are studying money, grocery shopping, and decimal operations. Even kids in middle school will have fun playing along! Chemical elements Christmas Ornaments – Printable Templates for December Science Lessons This printable resource includes black-and-white templates for all 118 elements of the periodic table. Each template shows the element’s name and symbol and can be printed for students to personalize. The activity is intended for the winter season, especially around December, when students are often busy but still benefit from focused, creative work. Students can decorate the element templates with color or drawings and, depending on the level, add simple facts or uses of the element. Some teachers use the finished pieces for a classroom display—on walls, windows, or doors. Others fold them into 3D shapes and hang them from the ceiling or around a subject-themed tree. Instructions for both 2D and foldable 3D formats are included, though the actual designs stay simple so that students can focus on content. No special materials are required beyond paper, scissors, and some colors. The templates work well with different age groups, from basic recognition in younger grades to research tasks for older students. Many classes use the templates as a seasonal wrap-up to a unit on atomic structure or chemical elements. It helps students to slow down while still staying connected to subject material. The repetitive visual exposure to symbols and element names supports retention, especially when students walk past the display each day. This activity is flexible enough to be used as a quiet individual task, a group effort, or part of a themed science week. Teachers can adapt the number of elements, the complexity of the task, and the way the results are shared. Included are 118 element cards, printing instructions, and some simple ideas for using the resource in class. It can be a nice way to connect content with classroom atmosphere during the last weeks of term. Heike from Lernfitness Did You Know? 67 Meme Winter Solving One Step Equations Pixel Art
Math, Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Christmas, Winter, Seasons, Algebra, Grade 5, 6, 7, 8, Worksheets & Printables, Activities
If "67" has taken over your classroom talk, now is the perfect opportunity to turn it into something useful. This Christmas one step equation pixel art task is riding off the back of the viral trend "67" and giving it a purposeful spin. Rather than seeing a math problem pop up, students see a task with an end goal, something they are curious about completing right away. Students complete twenty equations with one-step solutions for both positive and negative integers. The exercises involve all basic arithmetic operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division so that the pupils get excellent practice without overwhelming them. Every time the child gives the correct answer to the equation, a part of a puzzle with a winter scenery will be revealed to the child, and in the end, the well-known number 67 will be visible in winter colors. The digital version is completely self-checking, providing immediate feedback to the student as they complete questions. Incorrect math problems will not be revealed by the picture, prompting the student to take another look and complete the problem again. I find this feature to give the student instant feedback and to give you time to assist other students as they complete independent practice activities. To offer further flexibility, printable versions are provided as choices. These same twenty equations can be found in a worksheet form, making it simple to assign for homework or in-class work without technology. You will also see a complete toolbox of printable task cards, great for centers, group work, or a scuttlebutt rotation. A complete answer key is provided for easy assessment or review by students. This activity is perfect when done in December, when children tend to be especially energetic and have a hard time sitting still. It’s exciting enough to be seasonal and entertaining, yet formalized enough to provide actual value in improving their expertise. It’s also a great go-to activity in case of an emergency sub plan with no prep work involved. The skills that have been reinforced are the following: performing operations on one-step equations involving all four operations and developing fluency with positive and negative integers. Students are getting repetition without boredom and feedback without frustration. If you want to bring a little bit of Christmas spirit into the mathematics portion of your day while still focusing on the teaching and the learning, the Winter 67 Pixel Art provides the perfect remedy. This is easy to assign and administer, and it is impossible to ignore, in the best possible way.

Roll up your sleeves (and maybe pass the gravy) with the Helping Hands Writing Prompt! This Thanksgiving activity encourages kids to think about how they can lend a hand, without accidentally dropping the turkey. Writing and drawing come together in this heartwarming and hilarious project that showcases the many ways we can help others during the holiday season. First, kids will reflect on all the ways they’ve been helpful, or could be helpful, this Thanksgiving. Will they set the table without sneak-eating the rolls? Offer to do the dishes instead of disappearing into a pumpkin pie coma? Or maybe their “helping hands” involve cheering up a cranky relative with a joke about turkeys crossing the road. Whatever their helping superpower, it’s time to put it into words. Next, the artistic fun begins! Kids will draw their very own “helping hands,” complete with doodles of their Thanksgiving good deeds. Add in some colorful crayons, markers, or glitter (if you dare), and these hands will be ready to hang on the fridge, the classroom wall, or right next to the dessert table for everyone to admire. Perfect for inspiring gratitude, creativity, and just a touch of turkey humor, this activity is all about making Thanksgiving more special, one helping hand at a time! Enjoy!

67 Meme Winter Fraction Operations Pixel Art
Math, Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Christmas, Winter, Seasons, Fractions, Grade 5, 6, 7, 8, Worksheets & Printables, Activities
“67” may have become the de facto soundtrack to your classroom, and what better way to make the most of it? The Winter Fractions Pixel Art activity utilizes the phenomenon of the obsession with the number “67” and turns it into something positive and powerful for the math performance of your children. “ Twenty addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division equations are provided, ranging from basic to more challenging, to help students master the process of analyzing fractions. Correct solutions to all the exercises will unlock a corresponding image puzzle, and when completed, the solution to all the exercises will yield the magic number 67 in winter colors. It may not sound impressive to experienced teachers, but it is an effective tool to activate students’ learning on fractions when they feel they have seen it all before. It is fully self-checking, so there is instant feedback for the student. If they put in an incorrect answer, it won’t be visible in the picture, and they can rethink their problem. It also allows them to have confidence without you needing to continually check their work. There is also instant grading since it is completely no prep. It only takes seconds to assign. For flexibility, there are printable options included too. The same twenty problems involving fractions can also be taken as a worksheet, making it easy to assign it for homework, small group instruction, or days when it wouldn’t be ideal to have devices. A complete answer key is provided so it will remain quick and painless when it comes to grading. You will also have printable task cards perfect for math workshop, partners, or stations. Whether teaching online, offline, or a combination of both, this fits right in. This activity is best done in December and January when the attention span of the class is smaller and they need something just a bit different to hold their attention. It’s been formalized enough to provide for review days, casualized for centers, and stable enough to remain in your sub folder. Early finishers could complete this independently, and intervention groups could practice without becoming bombarded. Skills that have been reinforced include adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators, multiplying fractions, and dividing fractions. This way, students experience relevant repetition without feeling burned-out with fraction operations. A winter activity for your math class that offers fun along with learning and doesn’t contribute anything to your busywork is this fractions pixel art activity with a theme related to the number 67.

Chemistry Pennant Banner – 50 Main Group Elements to Print
STEM, Science, Chemistry, Physics, Life Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Basic Science, Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Christmas, Homeschool Templates, Grade 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, Activities, Projects, Labs, Experiments, Classroom Decor, Door Decor, Bulletin Boards, Crafts, Centers, Banners
Printable Pennants: 50 Main Group Elements – Holiday Chemistry Decor (Christmas Theme) This is a printable banner I made for my chemistry classroom, mostly to bring a bit of colour and a seasonal touch in December while still keeping it content-related. It includes 50 of the main group elements from the periodic table, each one on a separate pennant with the name, symbol and atomic number. I hang them up across the whiteboard or on the classroom wall, and the nice thing is that the students walk past them all the time, so they kind of absorb the information without realising it. The look of the pennants is slightly Christmas-themed, nothing too much, just enough to feel like it fits the season. I’ve done it both ways – printing the coloured version myself and just hanging it up, or printing the black-and-white version and letting students decorate a pennant each. That version worked well with a lower energy group before the holidays, and they enjoyed adding small facts or drawings connected to their element. Some made it artistic, others just coloured it in, but it definitely helped with remembering. Depending on the class, I sometimes only use the first 20 elements, especially if we haven’t covered much of the table yet. But with older students, we’ve used all 50 and even turned it into a quick quiz – like who can find the halogens in the banner, or name something everyday that contains element 13. I usually print the pennants on slightly thicker paper so they hang nicely, and if I want to use them again next year, I laminate them. String or ribbon works well for hanging, and it only takes a few minutes to put it all together. It’s a small thing, but it brightens up the room and keeps the content in view. Everything’s included in the file – all the pennants and a short explanation. 📍 Happy teaching, Heike from Lernfitness Did You Know?
