These basketball alphabet cards are perfect for students who are learning with a sports theme. They make the perfect tool for students to learn the letters of the alphabet. What is Included: This set includes one capital letter card and one lowercase letter card for each letter. Ways to Use the Cards: Play a matching game by matching the capital letters to the lowercase letters. Attach a paper clip to a letter card and use a magnetic fishing pole to "catch" the letters for a fun fishing game. Use a sand or salt tray for students to practice writing the letters on each card. Have students find the letters that you have hidden around the room for a fun letter hunt. Place the letter cards in alphabetical order. Create a pocket char game where you place the cards on a pocket chart and hide a picture behind one of the letters. The students will guess which letter the hidden picture is behind. Add objects that begin with each letter for students to match to each letter card. When to Use: Literacy Center - Place the cards in a literacy center for students to match independently or with a partner. Morning Tubs or Baskets - Place the cards in a morning bin for students to work on while their classmates arrive to class. Small Group Activities - The teacher can pull aside a small group of students who need extra practice identifying letters to use these cards. This resource is a comprehensive lesson that uses 20 building-related vocabulary words. First off, you can introduce these words by using the PDF -based presentation. With the arrow keys, you just move from one word to another to make your students familiar with them. Next, You can hand out the vocabulary lists. Beware that these are made with color, so in order to be eco-friendly you might want to use black and white ink. Once the students have taken these lists home, they can do the vocabulary test in their next class. They can practice with the words by utilizing the included flash cards. These just need to be printed, laminated, and cut. Beware of sharp edges though. You can use the curved edges version to avoid annoying pinches. Finally, use the Wacky Words activity to have a really good time in class. With this, all the letters are mixed up. Students love this.

I made these Feelings Conversation Cards for simple speaking activities about feelings and emotions. Each card gives students an easy sentence to continue, so even quieter learners usually have something they can say. The prompts are open enough for different answers, but still simple for different ages and levels. Some examples of how the cards can be used: • I’m happy when … “…when I have my birthday.” “…when I get what I want.” • I’m tired when … “…when I go to bed late.” “…when I work too much.” I mostly use cards like these for pair work, warm-up discussions, morning meetings, and small speaking groups. They also work well as quiet conversation prompts during SEL lessons. What’s inside: • 16 conversation cards • 5 printable pages • card backs included Just print the pages, cut the cards, laminate them if you’d like to use them more than once and they’re ready to use. Fall Preprimer Sight Word Cards

Get kids excited to learn about sight words with this set of fall sight word cards. These sight word cards make can help create a fun fall or autumn sight word literacy center or an engaging sight word game for students to enjoy while learning sight words from the preprimer sight word list. Create classroom games, instructional tools, or center prompts out of these versatile cards! What is Included: This set includes one leaf sight word card for each word on the preprimer sight word list. Ways to Use: Flash Cards - Students can work alone or with a partner to read the words on each card. Memory Game - With two copies of these cards, students can create a memory game by turning over two cards to see if they can make a match. The self-correcting feature on the cards allow students to check their reading. What is Included: There are 19 ending blend words included in this packet. Included in the packet are illustrated directions on how to put the cards together. The ending blends included in this set are: ft, nd, nt, pt and xt. How to Use: Students will get a card for the pile. Students will practice reading the word on the card, using the dots and arrows as a finger guide to reading the word. Once they feel confident that they know the word they read, they will open the card to reveal a picture of the word they read. When to Use: Literacy Center - Students can work independently or with a partner to read these words Morning Tub or Basket - The cards can be placed in a morning bin for students to work on as students arrive to class. Small Group Activity - The teacher can choose a small group of students or a specific group of words for students to work on in a small group setting with the teacher. The fact that the teacher can easily choose which words to include inside a center or activity, allows the teacher to easily differentiate this activity for her students. The bold, colorful, easy to recognize pictures allow students to complete this center independently, by providing pictures they should already recognize that match the words they are practicing to read. The cards do require some prep work to put together, but once created, they will provide a long term center or activity for your classroom. They need to be printed, cut apart and folding into thirds to create the read and reveal nature of this activity.

Consonant Blends Words and Pictures Cards

This is a pack of 32 flashcards for words with a consonant blend and a short vowel sound with no more than four sounds. The pack contains words with both an initial and a final blend. Introduction: I made these cards to send home with my pupils for extra practice sounding out these consonant blends words with their parents. They provide a cheap-to-print, effective way to get maximum practice at this vital, foundational reading skill. Order, outline and steps: Simply print and cut up the cards into 32 word cards, a 32 picture cards. Start by having the child sound out the words: lay picture cards face up on the table and stack the word cards in a pile, face up. Take a word card, sound it out to read it. Find the matching picture card and lay them both aside together. Once the pupil gains confidence, games can be made: Turn the above activity into a game by placing ten word cards in a pile face down between the players, and laying the matching pictures face down on the table. The players then take it in turns to select a word card and turn over a picture card. If they match, the player can keep the matching cards. If not, the word card is returned to the bottom of the pile and the picture placed face down on the table once more. The word cards chosen can be selected to give the child practice where needed, either with initial, or final blends or a mixture of both. Who are the flashcards for?
