Coping-strategy phrases — things like taking deep breaths, counting to ten, drawing something, yelling and screaming, or ignoring how you feel — are listed twelve to a sheet under two headers, Healthy and Unhealthy, across three sorting sheets. Students cut the phrases apart and glue each one under the column it belongs in, working through 36 different strategies across the three sheets without any phrase repeating. Because the wording ranges from mild self-soothing habits to more serious items like hurting yourself on purpose or getting revenge on someone, a teacher can select which of the three pages best fits their group and the sensitivity of the conversation. The set works as an independent seatwork task, a small-group counseling activity, or a whole-class discussion starter about identifying healthy responses to strong emotions.
