Get ready to rake up some gratitude with the Thankful Tree Writing Prompt! This Thanksgiving activity combines creativity and reflection to create a heartfelt masterpiece, and no actual leaves will clog your yard. Perfect for kids who are full of thanks (and maybe a little too much turkey), this activity invites them to write and draw about the people, things, and snacks they’re most grateful for. The fun starts with crafting their very own Thankful Tree. Each "leaf" becomes a blank canvas for kids to jot down what warms their hearts, like family, friends, and possibly an unhealthy obsession with mac and cheese. Once the writing’s done, it’s time to branch out with some drawing! Students can add colorful flair to their trees, turning their gratitude into an autumnal work of art. This activity is ideal for classrooms or as a family bonding moment that doesn’t involve fighting over the remote. By the end, kids will have a beautiful Thankful Tree they’ll be proud to display, and you’ll have a little peace and quiet, at least until dessert. Fun, festive, and packed with good vibes, this writing prompt is a must-have for spreading gratitude (and maybe sneaking in a little spelling practice). Let’s get thankful! Enjoy!

Gingerbread Alphabet Cards
ELA, Language Development, Pre-Reading, Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Seasons, Christmas, Winter, Kindergarten, Preschool, Activities
These gingerbread themed alphabet cards are perfect for students who are learning in the Christmas or winter season. They make the perfect tool for students to learn the letters of the alphabet. What is Included: This set includes one capital letter card and one lowercase letter card for each letter. Ways to Use the Cards: Play a matching game by matching the capital letters to the lowercase letters. Attach a paper clip to a letter card and use a magnetic fishing pole to "catch" the letters for a fun fishing game. Use a sand or salt tray for students to practice writing the letters on each card. Have students find the letters that you have hidden around the room for a fun letter hunt. Place the letter cards in alphabetical order. Create a pocket char game where you place the cards on a pocket chart and hide a picture behind one of the letters. The students will guess which letter the hidden picture is behind. Add objects that begin with each letter for students to match to each letter card. When to Use: Literacy Center - Place the cards in a literacy center for students to match independently or with a partner. Morning Tubs or Baskets - Place the cards in a morning bin for students to work on while their classmates arrive to class. Small Group Activities - The teacher can pull aside a small group of students who need extra practice identifying letters to use these cards. These gingerbread alphabet cards are a great activity for students to practice letter recognition during November. They are a low prep activity for teachers to prepare for students. Simply print, cut apart and laminate for durability. These cards can be stored in a task box for easy set up, clean up, and storage. Skills Assessed: These cards, depending on the materials added, can assess both letter recognition of capital and lowercase letters as well as identifying beginning sounds.

Christmas Number 0-30 Game – Printable Cards for Math Practice
Holiday & Seasonal, Language Development, ELA, Special Resources, Special Education Needs (SEN), Math, Early Math, Numbers, Holidays, Christmas, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Activities, Games, Worksheets & Printables, Task Cards, Quizzes and Tests, Teacher Tools, Projects, Flashcards, Centers
Christmas Number Game – Printable Cards for Math Practice 0-30 I put this number game together for the last couple of weeks before winter break, mostly because I needed something that would get them practising numbers but also let them move and talk a little. The idea is really simple: they each get a card, and there’s one card in the middle — and the goal is to find the one number that both cards have in common. That’s it. No complicated rules, and they pick it up within seconds. What surprised me was how into it they got. Even the students who usually aren’t that focused during math were engaged. They were shouting out numbers, helping each other, and asking to play again. I’ve played it in pairs, small groups, even whole class with two teams — and it worked every time. The Christmas designs give it a nice seasonal feel, but it’s still clearly a math activity. The cards go from 0 to 30, and there are a few different versions you can print — I made round ones at first but ended up using the square version because it was quicker to cut. Some of my students struggled with number recognition at the start of the year, and I noticed that after a few rounds of this, they started to recognise the numbers faster. It’s a bit of sneaky learning — they just think they’re playing a game, but the repetition really helps. I usually print on regular paper, sometimes heavier paper if I want to reuse the set. It doesn’t take long to prep — I just cut the cards in the evening, put them in an envelope, and that’s it. It’s become one of my favourite December math go-tos because it keeps the class busy, learning, and having fun — without any chaos. 📍 Happy teaching, Heike from Lernfitness Did You Know? Chemistry Christmas Theme Flashcards: Match Element Names and Symbols

Chemistry Flashcards – Match Main Group Element Names and Symbols Holiday Theme: Christmas This is a printable set of flashcards that I put together to help students remember the names and symbols of the elements. I’ve used this kind of thing around December when everyone’s a bit tired but we still want to do something related to chemistry. The cards have either the name of an element or its symbol, and students just try to find the right pairs. It’s simple, but they really do remember more that way. There’s a bit of a seasonal theme to the design, which makes it feel different from the usual review work. You can use the cards in all sorts of ways — I’ve tried it as a memory game, or just as a quiet task for pairs. It depends on the group. For students who are still getting to know the periodic table, I just give them a smaller set with the first 20 or so elements. For stronger groups, they can use the full set and even add extra facts to each card while they’re working. You don’t need anything special to prep the game. I just print the cards on thicker paper and sometimes laminate them if I want to keep them for next year. Once they’re cut out, you can keep them in small envelopes or boxes, depending on how you like to organize your materials. It’s one of those things that’s easy to bring in when you need something hands-on but still subject-related. The students enjoy it more than a worksheet, and they do actually talk about the elements while they play, which is always a win. You can also use it as a station or a warm-up during December lessons. All the cards are included, along with a short explanation of how to use them. 📍 Happy teaching, Heike from Lernfitness Did You Know? Get ready for a Thanksgiving activity that’s more fun than watching Uncle Bob try to carve the turkey, it's Dot to Dot: Thanksgiving Edition! This 5 page activity will have kids connecting dots up to 60, revealing festive images as they count their way to holiday magic. Who knew counting could lead to adorable turkeys, pumpkins, and maybe even a sneaky pilgrim hat? Perfect for little learners, this activity strengthens number sequencing and fine motor skills while keeping them entertained long enough for you to hide the last slice of pumpkin pie. Each page offers a delightful surprise as the mystery images take shape, imagine the excitement when they realize they’ve just uncovered the world's happiest turkey! (Don’t tell it what happens next.) Once the dots are connected, the fun isn’t over, they can grab their crayons and turn these newly discovered masterpieces into works of art. Will the turkey be neon pink? Will the pumpkin have stripes? Creativity knows no bounds here, and that's just the way we like it. Ideal for classrooms, homeschool, or just keeping the kids busy while the grown ups argue over football, this Thanksgiving dot-to-dot activity is simple, educational, and bursting with holiday cheer. Let’s get connecting and counting! Enjoy!
