CANDY CORN - the ever-popular Fall candy is here and ready to bring math to life for your Pre-K and Kinder learners. Even if you’re not a fan, you’ll fall in love with Dave the monster who talks all about his favorite sweet treat in the book, I Love Candy: a counting book . While counting down from 10 to 0, your learners will connect with Dave and his love of the seasonal candy, as well as empathize with him as they watch the number of morsels in his bowl reduce one by one. To reinforce concepts presented in the book, six worksheets and 3 hands-on activities are included in this product. As learners work through them, they’ll practice and strengthen skills in number identification, counting 0-10, 1-to-1 correspondence, sequencing, and number words. The hands-on activities are designed to add an element of fun to your math and/or seasonal curriculum. Use them in conjunction with the book and worksheets, or as stand-alone activities. Either way your kiddos will be engaged and ask to play again and again. In the first activity, learners will place designated numbers of candy corn into two bowls and compare the quantities using vocabulary such as greater than/less than. In activity number two, learners will practice counting, eye/hand coordination, and gross motor skills as they work to feed Dave a selected number of candy corn. Last, but not least, learners will count a chosen number of candy corn and find the white, orange, or yellow balloon labeled with the corresponding number. A bonus opinion writing activity is included that can be displayed in your educational environment. Learners will write “yes” or “no” to indicate whether or not they like candy corn. Then they will provide one reason to support their answer. Upon purchasing this product you’ll come to see it is a great addition to your math curriculum and seasonal toolbox. The book, most worksheets, and all activities are available in a color or b&w format. All worksheets are print and go and an answer key is included. Should you choose to laminate the book and activity pieces, they can be used time over time, bringing enjoyment for years to come. For further product details, check out the list below. Halloween Domino Game – Numbers 0–30 and Number Words
Holiday & Seasonal, Language Development, ELA, Special Resources, Special Education Needs (SEN), Halloween, Holidays, Math, Early Math, Numbers, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Activities, Games, Worksheets & Printables, Task Cards, Quizzes and Tests, Teacher Tools, Quizzes, Projects, Flashcards
Halloween Domino Game – Numbers 0–30 and Number Words This Halloween domino set offers a seasonal way to practice both numbers and number words from 0 to 30. I started using it in October with my first graders, who were learning to connect written words with digits, and it quickly became a classroom favorite. The familiar domino format makes the rules easy to understand, so students can begin playing right away with very little explanation. The resource includes two full sets of domino cards, 68 pieces in total. The first set shows the standard number and number word pairings. The second set is designed with syllable-style breaks to support early readers who are still developing confidence with longer words. I have found that this version works well for students who struggle with spelling or for English language learners who need extra support with pronunciation. You can choose between different ranges depending on your group: 0–10 for beginners, 0–20 for more practice, or the full 0–30 for advanced learners. Having these options makes it easy to differentiate without preparing separate materials. In my classroom, the dominoes have been used in math centers, during small group rotations, and even spread out on the floor in the hallway for a more active lesson. Students enjoy the movement of placing down cards, and it gives them a sense of progress as the chain grows longer. The game also encourages collaboration, since they need to watch what others are playing and wait for their turn. Prep is straightforward: print the cards, cut them, and laminate if you plan to reuse them. Once the set is ready, it can be stored in a small box or envelope for quick access. This game is most useful in kindergarten and grade 1, but it can also serve as extra practice for students in grade 2 who need reinforcement with number words. It combines literacy and math in a simple activity that brings a little Halloween atmosphere into the lesson while staying focused on learning. Warm regards, Lernfitness Did You Know?
