Get students up and moving with this Sports Charades Indoor Recess Gross Motor Game. This game allows students to get up and moving when they cannot go outside. This game can also be used during a brain break time. What is Included: This resource includes instructions for playing the game as well as the cards used during the game. How to Play The first way to play is listed in the instructions of this resource. The playing cards are placed face down. One student takes a card and begins to act out what the card says. The other students must guess what sports themed activity the student is doing. Repeat with a different student until all cards are used. The second way to play is to have the teacher have the students freeze in place. Make sure each student has enough room to move without touching other students. The teacher will then read one of the cards to the students and the students will act out whatever was on the card. The students will freeze again at the teacher's command and a new card is picked. Repeat this until all of the cards are used. When to Use: Rainy Day Indoor Recess: If the weather does not permit you from going outside, this game is the perfect way to help get some of that energy out! Gross Motor Game: If you need a game for students to do that works with an apple theme, this one is a great way to get students moving while thinking about different actions associated with apples! These breakfast themed alphabet cards are perfect for students who are learning with a food theme. They make the perfect tool for students to learn the letters of the alphabet. What is Included: This set includes one capital letter card and one lowercase letter card for each letter. Ways to Use the Cards: Play a matching game by matching the capital letters to the lowercase letters. Attach a paper clip to a letter card and use a magnetic fishing pole to "catch" the letters for a fun fishing game. Use a sand or salt tray for students to practice writing the letters on each card. Have students find the letters that you have hidden around the room for a fun letter hunt. Place the letter cards in alphabetical order. Create a pocket char game where you place the cards on a pocket chart and hide a picture behind one of the letters. The students will guess which letter the hidden picture is behind. Add objects that begin with each letter for students to match to each letter card. When to Use: Literacy Center - Place the cards in a literacy center for students to match independently or with a partner. Morning Tubs or Baskets - Place the cards in a morning bin for students to work on while their classmates arrive to class. What is Included: This set includes one capital letter card and one lowercase letter card for each letter. Ways to Use the Cards: Play a matching game by matching the capital letters to the lowercase letters. Attach a paper clip to a letter card and use a magnetic fishing pole to "catch" the letters for a fun fishing game. Use a sand or salt tray for students to practice writing the letters on each card.
