In this SEL activity, students will be returning from summer break with a fun back to school activity. There are 28 question cards. Students will get a card, mix and mingle with the class members and then find a partner. You can play music and when the music stops, they find a person closest to them to ask their questions to one another. After students ask one another the questions on each card, they swap cards. The music begins to play again and then when the music stops, they find someone else. This will encourage students to talk to new students and get to know things about their class members that they did not know. You can play this as long as time allows. Some of the questions on the cards are; What are you looking forward to this year? What is a goal you have for this year? What is a sport you would like to play this year? What is your favorite class? What are some favorite memories from the summer? There are also Would You Rather questions as well. The questions are suitable for grades 3rd through 8th. The objective for this resource is to help students reconnect after a long summer break, get to know others in their class, seek out new friends, and create connections with one another.
