Explore how a starting value and a repeated step create a number sequence. Students complete three whole-number or decimal patterns and explain their rules, then create sequences from supplied starting values. A second page leaves both the starting number and increment open, giving students more control over the pattern.
Each row uses one number for several linked tasks: identify an underlined digit’s value, write the number in words and round it to three places. The worked first row models the chart before students complete the remaining numbers. Compare rounding results across a row to discuss why the requested place matters.
