Writing Activity: Halloween Pennant

Writing Activity: Halloween Pennant
ELA, Holiday & Seasonal, Writing, Holidays, Halloween, Grade 2, 3, 4, Activities

Add a spooky twist to your October writing exercises with this enjoyable Halloween-themed activity . The task aims to help students develop their skill of writing comprehensive sentences by writing about what they love most about Halloween. The activity starts with a graphic organizer on the first page, helping students structure their thoughts. They can either choose from the provided examples or come up with their own ideas. This task could be completed individually or in a group setting. The final draft of the writing is to be in the shape of a pennant. There are two variations of the activity : one involves purely writing, while the other combines writing with a drawing. The design of these activities is meant to enhance students' competence in constructing full sentences. If students require additional space for their writing, a separate page consisting only of lines is available. Once completed, these writing pennants can serve as festive decorations for your classroom or the school hallway throughout October. Each pennant includes a fun autumn/Halloween themed border that students can color. This product comes as a four-page PDF for you to print. Encouraging students to delve into creative writing can be entertaining, especially when it revolves around Halloween. However, some structural guidelines may be beneficial, such as specifying a required number of sentences or a minimum paragraph length.
