Maze Series Designed for grades 2–5, this series pairs scene-based mazes with light drawing tasks. Students first navigate the maze, then sketch a few target words from a simple word list. Pages rotate through varied styles and gradually increase in difficulty. An optional “color it in” step adds a creative finish, and select themes include quick, kid-friendly calculations. Student-friendly and classroom-ready, these pages are perfect for literacy warmups, seasonal units, fast-finisher bins, centers, sub plans, or home learning. The playful, structured format builds problem-solving, attention to detail, and fine-motor control while reinforcing themed content in a motivating way. Note: Not all word-list terms appear on the maze pages. For complete vocabulary coverage, use the companion word list linked in the resource. Winter Word List 1. Students navigate the maze, encountering branches and cul-de-sacs that build attention and planning. Most pages include a tiny follow-up box—students draw or label 2–3 target words from a small word box, add a quick count, or color in the scene—so the activity reinforces both content and skills in a highly engaging format. Each completed set includes: A themed maze page. A simple student instruction strip. An answer key showing the solved path for teacher support or self-checking Themes Included These mazes cover a wide range of fun, age-appropriate themes, including: Seasons & Holidays (e.g., Halloween, Easter, Valentine’s Day) Math-Lite Connections (e.g., quick counts, number words) Everyday Topics (e.g., Animals, Weather, School) Special Units (e.g., Health, Earth Day, Sports, Kindness) Each topic reflects students’ real-life experiences and interests while strengthening problem-solving, visual scanning, and fine-motor control in a playful, highly visual way. Easy extensions (optional): Time it: solve once in pencil, then try to beat the time in pen Retell the route using sequence words (first, next, then, finally) Count intersections or turns and graph the results Write a 1–2 sentence mini-story about the scene using the target words Design a tiny maze in the corner for a partner to solve Differentiation tips: Offer a finger-trace pass before pencils for emerging learners Highlight the borders of the correct region on first attempts Use thicker-line versions or simpler pages to build confidence Pair roles: “navigator” gives directions; “driver” traces the path For similar downloads and other frees, do check out Cored Group on TeachSimple.

Get ready to gobble up some fun with Thanksgiving Connect the Dots, Alphabet Dot to Dot Activity! This seven-page adventure combines learning and laughter as kids connect letters from A to Z to reveal adorable Thanksgiving themed pictures. It’s like a treasure hunt, but instead of gold, they’ll discover turkeys, pumpkins, and maybe even a pilgrim hat that’s cooler than Uncle Larry’s cowboy one. Each page is a fresh surprise, with dots patiently waiting to transform into festive scenes. As students follow the alphabet trail, they’ll be sharpening their letter recognition skills while secretly wondering if turkeys always look this happy before Thanksgiving. (Spoiler: they don’t.) Once the dots are connected, the fun doesn’t stop, kids can color their creations to bring them to life. A neon turkey? Go for it. A pumpkin with polka dots? Why not! It’s Thanksgiving, and anything goes, except skipping dessert. Perfect for classrooms or at-home fun, this activity is easy to set up and keeps kids entertained longer than it takes Aunt Sue to tell her famous “gravy disaster” story. So grab those pencils, and let’s turn those dots into holiday magic, one alphabet letter at a time! Enjoy!

67 Meme Winter Plotting Points on the Coordinate Plane Pixel Art

67 Meme Winter Plotting Points on the Coordinate Plane Pixel Art
Math, Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Christmas, Winter, Seasons, Geometry, Graphing, Grade 5, 6, 7, 8, Worksheets & Printables, Activities

This activity is based on the 67 viral meme, your students will go crazy. Trust me when I say that if you have ever attempted to incorporate coordinate plane practice in the winter months in the classroom, you know exactly what I am talking about: restless kids, short attention span, and anything resembling “schoolwork” gets the side eye. This pixel winter-themed project removes all of this stress from your shoulders. It provides your 5th or 6th-grade students with appreciable point-plotting practice while being different from the norm. The best part about this is how simple it is: Students put twenty coordinate pairs in the familiar drag-and-drop interface. With each correct point placed, students get a glimpse of a puzzle image hiding behind the coordinate grid. Piece by piece, the complete winter image emerges. Even those students who tend to zone out in graphing class sit up straight knowing there's going to be a reward in the form of unearthing a picture. It's not just another graphing project—it's like puzzle-solving. And the best part of this process? This process is completely self-checking. You don't have to be right there in front of the computer, adjusting and confirming if the point is in the correct spot. The lesson handles all of this information by itself. A point in the wrong spot simply means the image doesn't appear. The students learn from this process and try again. You can also use this resource in multiple ways; you can use it digitally in class practice or incorporate it in your homeward assignments as an interactive way to review. This resource works perfectly after demonstrating the coordinate graph in class for the first time, during a spiral review in the middle of the unit, or even right before class if there's going to be a test. This resource fits perfectly in class because of the wintery theme; in fact, it doesn’t cross over into anything holiday-related. Here's what's included: • Digital no-prep pixel art lesson • Twenty drag-and-drop ordered pairs with coverage of all four quadrants • Fully self-checking format featuring a winter mystery picture • Easy-to-follow student instructions • Ready-to-use environment that can be assigned in seconds Teachers appreciate that this activity is fresh and interesting yet not complicated. Students appreciate that this activity is like working on a puzzle compared to other math assignments. And you will appreciate that this process provides you with reliable data from practice without contributing more to your grading stack. This Mystery Picture Activity in math class would be the perfect way for your students to develop coordinate planes this winter if you want the students to have fun doing math assignments.

Each page features a heartwarming or hilariously relatable Thanksgiving quote, perfect for reminding everyone that the holiday is about more than just trying to outrun your uncle for the last drumstick. Imagine students coloring “Gobble ‘til You Wobble” in bold, bright hues or giving their artistic touch to “Grateful, Thankful, Blessed” with enough glitter to make even the fanciest turkey jealous. Whether it’s a classic quote or a cheeky one that might just make Grandma snort-laugh, these pages bring a little extra spice (and we’re not just talking pumpkin). Perfect for classrooms or at-home holiday fun, these pages are like the mashed potatoes of activities, everybody wants more. The quotes add a splash of Thanksgiving spirit, while the coloring gives kids (and grown-ups who can’t resist) a chance to unwind and get creative. So, break out the crayons and markers, and let the coloring begin! No need for clean-up or leftovers here—just pure, doodling delight with a side of holiday cheer. Enjoy!

These winter themed alphabet cards are perfect for students who are learning in the winter season. They make the perfect tool for students to learn the letters of the alphabet. What is Included: This set includes one capital letter card and one lowercase letter card for each letter. Ways to Use the Cards: Play a matching game by matching the capital letters to the lowercase letters. Attach a paper clip to a letter card and use a magnetic fishing pole to "catch" the letters for a fun fishing game. Use a sand or salt tray for students to practice writing the letters on each card. Have students find the letters that you have hidden around the room for a fun letter hunt. Place the letter cards in alphabetical order. Create a pocket char game where you place the cards on a pocket chart and hide a picture behind one of the letters. The students will guess which letter the hidden picture is behind. Add objects that begin with each letter for students to match to each letter card. When to Use: Literacy Center - Place the cards in a literacy center for students to match independently or with a partner. Morning Tubs or Baskets - Place the cards in a morning bin for students to work on while their classmates arrive to class. Small Group Activities - The teacher can pull aside a small group of students who need extra practice identifying letters to use these cards. These winter alphabet cards are a great activity for students to practice letter recognition during the winter months. They are a low prep activity for teachers to prepare for students. Simply print, cut apart and laminate for durability. These cards can be stored in a task box for easy set up, clean up, and storage. Skills Assessed: These cards, depending on the materials added, can assess both letter recognition of capital and lowercase letters as well as identifying beginning sounds.
