A-E Phonic Game Print 'n Play!
Special Resources, ELA, Language Development, Pre-Reading, Phonics, Reading, Spelling, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, Activities, Games

Here is a fun, print 'n play phonic game for the split digraph a-e! Help your pupils to grasp the tricky split digraph concept as they play! Who is the a-e game suitable for? All learners of phonics, including young children, SEN/special needs, ESL etc... Aims and Objectives Some children, when starting to learn about the long /a-e/ sound will start to make every /a/ into a long /a-e/ sound. While this is common among all children, some children need more help to overcome this difficulty. Therefore, this game has two aims: 1.To help children to be able to hear the long vowel sound a-e in words 2.To help children understand that some words have a short /a/ and some have a long /a-e/; the child must listen to hear which word has which - not guess. How to play: This is a game for two players. The teacher should watch if two children are playing together. Each player takes a game board which will indicate whether the player should listen for words with a short /a/ sound or a long /a-e/ sound. The selected picture cards are scattered on the table face down. Players take it in turns to choose a picture card. The player says the word and listens to the vowel sound. Is it short /a/, or long /a-e/? If it belongs on the player’s board, it is placed on one of the oblongs. If not, it is returned to the table, face down. The winner is the player who completes his/her board first. Teaching tips: Support children to sound words out/blend them as needed. Help children to hear the vowel sound by emphasizing it and stretching it out. Help the child to do this as well. Have fun - as this eases children over those tricky spots! What is included? 1 PDF with 2 game boards and 20 pictures all in colour and ink saving black and white. See more fun phonic games in the Lilibette's Resources store! NUMBERS 1 TO 10 - THE NUMERICAL GLOVES - Math Game
Math, Numbers, Preschool, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, Activities, Games

THE NUMERICAL GLOVES 1. Introduction It is very important that as a teacher, or even a parent, you use the so-called didactic games in your learning area. These games will make your students or children learn mathematics in a more didactic way and even have love or admiration for it, because mathematics is a very useful tool in daily life. On this occasion I have prepared this beautiful material for your students to review these concepts of numbers from 1 to 10. 2.Objective -Mathematical educational games capture students' attention, creating an interactive and fun learning environment. -Mathematical educational games allow students to apply mathematical concepts in a practical way, connecting and linking theory with real-life situations or game situations. As is known, children love games and what better way to introduce mathematics through it. -Mathematical educational games will allow your students to better memorize the mathematical concepts they must learn, in a more natural way and without so much effort. What's more, you will add a pinch of fun to it. -Mathematical educational games encourage the development of problem-solving strategies, because they promote analytical and critical thinking. -Mathematical educational games will provide your students with immediate feedback, because they will allow students to evaluate their own performance and correct their errors more actively. Similar to the so-called Montessori method, where students learn from their mistakes! 3.Order, scheme and stages - Introduce your math class in a relaxing way, through classical music or something fun. -After teaching your class on the numbers from 1 to 10, invite your students to put away all their things that are on the table and take out their scissors and cut out the balloons one by one. -Then ask them in groups to help match the number with the graphic numerical quantity. 4.Grades or ages This game is designed for children ages 3 to 6, who are learning their first numbers from 1 to 10. Short Vowels: 10 Decodable Reading Books + Supporting Worksheets/Games
ELA, Language Development, Pre-Reading, Phonics, Spelling, Special Education Needs (SEN), Special Resources, Kindergarten, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, Literacy Readers, Teacher Tools, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Games, Activities

This is a set of ten lessons for struggling readers to help them develop reading fluency. The lessons cover short vowel words with and without a consonant blend. It includes 10 lessons, 10 decodable Reading Books, 10 matching PowerPoint presentations of the books + 10 packs of worksheets - a pack to support each book. This 10-week curriculum focuses on short vowel sounds and is designed for struggling readers. It includes 10 decodable reading books, each with only 10 new words per book to prevent cognitive overload. This pack is designed for children who have already learned to blend words with a short vowel sound, with both three and four sounds, but have not yet attained reading fluency. We study the ten words in each vowel sound, five each week, and then practice by using the activity pack. The child becomes very familiar with these five words. The child can then be given the next reading book and, to his/her great surprise, can read the book quite fluently without having to decode nearly every word. This gives the child an enormous boost. The process seems, in my experience, to help the child learn what is needed, once they can sound out words _ it helps them to learn how to store the words in the long-term memory, and I find it gets easier and easier as we go through the programme. The worksheets provide multi-sensory activities to help the child develop: Flashcards of the relevant words for each sound Phonemic awareness Strengthen consonant blends, which these children often find hard Tracking skills, which are again poor for many of these children Word differentiation - we tackle confusion words head-on (e.g. big/pig) Comprehension - as reading becomes more fluent, we can now build comprehension Fun print and go games And much, much more! The systematic, repetitive nature of this program makes it suitable for students with special needs, including those with dyslexia, cerebral palsy, or general learning disabilities. Ideal for small groups or one-on-one instruction, it helps develop reading fluency, phonetic awareness, and early writing skills.
