If you've just introduced multiplication and moving on with area of a rectangle, it will be easier for the students to learn area by visual representation. Students will see that multiplying the number of rows times the number of unit squares in each row is easier and faster than counting the individual boxes. Includes poster for your classroom in black and white and color as well explaining how to obtain the area of a rectangle. This practice will help make students more avid in multiplication. This product will also provide some extension for the 2023 VA SOL 3.MG .4 The student will identify, describe, classify, compare, combine, and subdivide polygons. It contains notes pages on the meaning of the word congruent, what qualities make two or more shapes congruent and what qualities do not. There are practice pages for each topic, with an answer key included. The notes pages come in two sizes. The first size is a full-page size. You can print them as-is. You can also print them two to a sheet (which is an option for most printers and copiers). This is what I do as it saves on paper and the sheets will fit in a spiral or composition notebook. The second size is formatted to fit on a standard composition notebook page (but it will also fit in a spiral notebook). Additionally, there are two links included in the pdf: one which opens a digital version of the notes, and another that opens a slide show version, optimized for a projector or interactive board. In both cases, which you click the link, you will be prompted to make a copy, which you can then use with Google Slides or download and use with Keynote or PowerPoint. What's included? If you are about to begin teaching Laws of Exponents to your math students, this is a great series of lessons that will guide and/or complement your instruction. This is Lesson 5: Power Rule with Fractions. It comes equipped with 3 components: --An MP4 file that will walk students through the lesson. This is a 22-minute video for students to learn, practice and review this skill. --A Guided Notes printable . You should print this off for students to fill out while listening to the video lecture. Being able to take notes along the way will help students solidify their learning. It is 3 pages. --A Laws of Exponent Summary Sheet. This is a 1-page printable that can serve as a quick visual reference for what students have learned in this lesson. This lesson is designed for high school math students.
