Identify at least two changes that happen to the liquid as bees process it (enzymes change sugars; water evaporates; honey thickens). Describe why honey can taste and look different based on its flower source, including one example from the text. Explain why honey may turn grainy or solid in a jar, according to the passage. Describe why bees make honey and name the colony members mentioned (queen, workers, drones). Key Vocabulary From the Text nectar β sweet liquid that comes from flowers. honeydew β sugary liquid that comes from insects like aphids. enzymes β substances in bees that help change sugars. evaporate β when water changes and leaves as vapor. foraging β searching for food. Each lesson focuses on a single topic so students donβt get lost. The writing is clear but never childish, making it perfect for grades two through five. Topics range from animals and science to history, inventions, and everyday things. No matter the level of the student, everyone should take away at least one new idea or fact from each lesson.
